REAL Housewives of Beverly Hills fans slammed Erika Jayne after she complained she’s “poor.”
The 49-year-old also called her $10k per month apartment “tiny” during Wednesday’s episode of the Bravo show.
Early on in the latest episode of RHOBH, Erika sat down with Kathy Hilton and Crystal Kung-Minkoff to discuss how she’s adjusting to life following her split from Tom Girardi.
After admitting her new apartment was in “shambles,” Erika said: “I didn’t need to take on what I left.”
In a confessional, she said: “I entered this marriage at 27 years old, which was 20 years ago. Tom had everything. It was all set up.
“I just inserted myself in there.
“Just because you have a lot of money doesn’t mean that you have a lot of independence and if you’re not in charge of your own finances from the get, where are you gonna go?”
The RHOBH star told the co-stars: “For a long time I lived with two housekeepers that made it like a show place…. And now I’m the housekeeper.
“I’m doing laundry myself. You should see me. I’m like washing dishes. There’s no housekeepers. There’s no gardeners.
“And I really value my privacy, so in some respects I kind of like it.
“And I can throw my s**t all over the place. It doesn’t even matter. It’s my place.”
As the scene aired, Bravo fans took to Twitter to slam Erika for acting like she’s “poor.”
One person wrote: “Erika can spend $10,000 a month in rent and yet is poor mouthing and acting like she is Norma Raye? GTFOH.”
Alongside a gif of a woman saying “oh my god, it’s so hard,” another added: “Erika with no housekeepers and gardeners…”
A third chimed in: “
Erika makes it so hard to feel bad for her. Miss mamas sounded hurt about washing her own dishes. Love her tho. I really do.”
The backlash continued as another fan wrote: “Erika’s apartment is $9,500 a month with 3 bedrooms, a pool, custom made furniture and she’s calling it her little house. I’m not feeling sorry for her. Come on now, she’s not suffering by any means.”
Accompanied by a woman rolling her eyes, a following person said: “A little house for $9500/month. Erika, girl.”
Many agreed that Erika’s new home is nice, as an additional fan commented: “Erika’s downsized home looks better than the one she had with Tom. That other house was kinda gaudy and dated on the inside.”
Others said Erika was “making it sound like she’s slumming it by living like an average person.”
Erika moved into her new home after she filed for divorce from Tom, 82, in November.
The former couple lived in a $13 million mansion together, though she downsized in light of their split.
Erika’s new residence is a 1920s Spanish-style home, which also sports a kitchen that includes modern and state-of-the-art appliances.
Erika’s previous home, which was originally listed for $13M before the price was slashed by $1.5M, was quite the head-turner as she and Tom lived on a 5-acre estate with two dining rooms, high ceilings and even a spiral staircase.
The RHOBH star has denied claims she “embezzled millions” of dollars – some of which was meant to go to “widows and orphans who lost loved ones in the tragic crash of Lion Air Flight 610.”
Tom, who was previously hospitalized for a “serious illness,” and his company are alleged to be in major debt and still owe $26million to “anywhere from dozens to hundreds of clients.”
