REAL Housewives of Orange County alum Kelly Dodd got vaccinated after her controversial Covid comments.
The 45-year-old also said that Heather Dubrow’s son “gave her the virus” on New Year’s Eve.
Kelly took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday to share a clip of herself and husband Rick Leventhal, 61, waiting to get their shots.
She told her followers: “We’re getting our Covid shots today. I’m going with Johnson & Johnson.”
Rick said they chose the vaccine because “it’s one shot, one time only.”
Kelly added: “We already have the antibodies. We got Covid on New Year’s. Heather Dubrow’s son gave it to us.”
Heather- who just announced her return to RHOC at the same time Kelly’s contract wasn’t renewed– shares twins Nicholas and Maximillia and daughters Katarina and Collette with husband Terry Dubrow.
The Bravo alum “thanked” Heather’s son before adding: “We’re getting the shots. We’re getting the vaccine, so I think your mom will be happy and my dad will be happy.
“They’re begging us to get the vaccine even though we have the antibodies.”
Rick added that it was a “historic day” for the pair.
The Instagram Stories concluded with Kelly documented Rick getting his shot.
The RHOC star’s decision to get vaccinated may shock some fans, as Kelly was previously under fire for claiming the coronavirus was “God’s way of thinning the herd.”
Back in April 2020, Kelly made the insensitive remarks in her Instagram comments after fans called her out for flying from New York to California despite quarantine guidelines.
She said: “If it’s dangerous why are the airlines still flying. You think I want to fly? I had to get back how is that elitist??
“People are so judgmental it’s sick!!
“That many die anyway!! They would’ve died this year they were compromised !!”
The RHOC star went on: “Do you know how many people died from the h1n1 the swine flu or SARS??
“It’s 25 per cent get your facts straight you are only hearing numbers not the reality!! It’s God’s way of thinning the herd!!
“If you are vulnerable or compromised stay inside if you don’t protect others by wearings masks and gloves keep your distance and don’t go out if you are ill!! It’s common sense.”
The Bravo star also claimed even if she did get the virus, she wouldn’t die from it.
She wrote: “Even if I got it I won’t die from it !! Do you people even know the statistics? It’s the old or the vulnerable that die from this! 25%. All my friends have had it and recovered!”
Following the comments, the RHOC star was branded by fans as “vile” and “despicable.”
In light of the backlash, Kelly took to Instagram to apologize for making the comments.
She said: “I want to give a public apology.
“When I wrote that it was God’s way of thinning the herd, that’s not what I meant. What I meant was, do these pandemics happen because it’s God way?
“I’m not God. I’m not insensitive. I feel bad for all of the families that have lost loved ones. I do think we should all stay home and protect everybody.
“That’s not what I meant, and I want to apologize to anyone who got offended. Okay? I’m sorry.”
