Richard Hammond and James May Return to Top Gear Studio After a Decade

Memories at the Former Top Gear Studio

RICHARD Hammond and James May recently revisited their former Top Gear studios, a decade after leaving the BBC series. The popular motoring show, presented by the duo alongside Jeremy Clarkson, was a massive success before being axed last year.

Both Richard and James joked about their return to Dunsfold Aerodrome, calling it a potentially "traumatising" experience. The show was a significant money-maker for the BBC, with spin-offs sold worldwide.

From Top Gear to The Grand Tour

The trio hosted Top Gear from 2002 to 2015 before walking away from the format. Subsequently, they became the faces of Amazon's motoring show, The Grand Tour, which ended last year. As part of James May's YouTube series, Planet Gin, he and Richard, 55, returned to Top Gear's former studio.

Reflecting on the Past

Reminiscing about their time at the location, the pair admitted feeling odd and possibly traumatised by the visit. James, 62, shared, "Well, that is the old Top Gear studio. And that is the old Top Gear green room." Richard added, "I felt really odd being here."

While exploring the abandoned HQ, the duo almost revealed a secret game they used to play, with May saying, "And we used to... I don't know if we can talk about this," to which Hammond replied, "We used to play that game."
