Last week Richard was in a furious bust-up over the energy crisis

It’s the first time Rob has stepped in since appearing alongside Susanna Reid back in March.

Rob’s return was a welcome change for some viewers, with one writing on Twitter: “YAY Rob Rinder is back! Sooooo happy, love it when he is on. He’s the best.”

Meanwhile Richard and his wife Judy Finnigan were spotted visiting their new born granddaughter at the weekend after daughter Chloe gave birth.

Announcing the happy news last week, she told fans: “We are delighted to welcome to the world our daughter. We are utterly besotted and beaming with pride.

MADE IT WEIRD

GMB viewers all say same thing as Richard Madeley calls Chloe Kelly 'Coco'

“Our baby girl was born Wednesday morning, 10/08/22, 8.36am.”

Chloe’s husband, former rugby and I’m A Celeb star James Haskell, 37, shared the same message on his own Instagram page.

Richard’s break from GMB comes after he lost it with an MP live on air as they clashed over the energy crisis.

In a furious bust up, he accused James Cleverly, Secretary of State for Education, of dodging questions and insisting he wasn’t answering about what the government is doing NOW about the situation.

Mr Cleverly said: “I’m not able to get to the point, Richard, because you keep interrupting me.”

Richard replied: “That’s not fair, no, that’s not fair.”

“It is fair, we can rewatch the tape and see which of us has done the most talking on this programme,” the MP blasted.

But Richard hit back: “It’s our job to hold you to an answer and if you’re not answering the question you will be interrupted.

“I’m sorry if that’s too hard for you, but that’s how it works.
