Rita Ora has been confirmed for The Masked Singer series three

Last year, Rita made headlines after she breached lockdown restrictions to throw her 30th birthday party at a restaurant in London.

The move caused uproar and Rita was forced to make a grovelling apology, but some fans of the show feared it could mean she wouldn’t be back on the panel for the next season.

While Strictly pro Oti Mabuse has stood in for Rita on The Masked Dancer, which is airing this week, it has now been confirmed the singer will be back for series three of The Masked Singer.

Derek McLean, one of the show’s producers told Daily Star: “The key thing everyone just needs to understand is Rita was not available for The Masked Dancer because she was filming in Australia and the thing she does on The Masked Singer is be the voice expert.

“She is the one everyone turns to and says, ‘Do you know who this is?’ and ‘Can you tell who that voice is?’”

Rita is currently in Australia and has been spending a lot of time with her Marvel director boyfriend Taika Waititi, who she has been dating since March.

Earlier this month she was seen sharing a steamy three-way kiss with Taika and Thor star Tessa Thompson.

Meanwhile, The Masked Dancer has seen two of the 12 new celebrities unmasked.
