But she has other plans in mind

Throughout his years in Weatherfield, the café owner played by David Neilson has taken many wayward characters and outcasts under his wing.

Regular ITV viewers will remember volatile Becky Granger as one of his most famous protégées.

In scenes airing next week, Roy decides to give Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) a chance at a new life – but things don’t go as planned.

The wayward teen was involved in Griff Reynolds’ far-right group and left the cobbles in the wake of the activist’s arrest.

She returned to Corrie earlier this year, trying to rekindle her relationship with Max Turner (Paddy Bever).

In recent scenes of the Manchester-based drama, Lauren bagged a job in Roy’s café, Roy’s Rolls.

Coming up, in the café, Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) gives Lauren a pep talk on how to deal with awkward customers.

When Beth Tinker (Lisa George) accuses Lauren of short-changing her, Lauren remains calm but proves her wrong.

Shona congratulates Lauren on the way she handled a difficult customer.

Later on, Lauren tells Max about her successful day in the café and he is genuinely pleased for her.

But when Lauren misreads the signal and tries to kiss him he pulls away.

Embarrassed, she storms out of the house and heads to the café where she tells Roy she has made a fool of herself and wants to resign.

However, true to his kind and giving nature, Roy offers her food and a bed for the night before she makes any rash decision.

But Lauren isn’t accustomed to such a big display of kindness and Roy is horrified when she offers to sleep with him to show her gratitude.

In later scenes in the café, Roy leaves a message for Shona, hoping she might have heard from Lauren.

When Shona reveals that neither she nor Max has seen Lauren since yesterday, Roy becomes increasingly worried.

Lauren calls at No.8 for her things and inadvertently lets slip to Max and Shona that she made a pass at Roy as that is what men expect.

What will be her next step?

Could Lauren leave Weatherfield again?

Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
