AFTER taking time off in Ireland with his mother Michelle, Ryan Connor makes his way back to the cobbles.
Unfortunately, things in Coronation Street are in no way getting better for him as he turns to steroids to cope.

He left Weatherfield to go to Ireland
But he gets a new harrowing storyline
The waiter played by Ryan Prescott made it clear he was struggling to accept the change in his physical appearance following his acid attack.
Recent scenes of the ITV soap showed him feeling overwhelmed, particularly after finding out that Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) was impersonating his Ibiza love interest Crystal.
As a result, Ryan left the cobbles to go to Ireland, where his mother Michelle sought refuge in December 2019 following another painful breakup with Robert Preston.
Coming up, however, Ryan decides it’s time for him to get back to reality as he returns from Ireland.
He then tells Carla Connor (Alison King) that he’s having some exercise equipment delivered.
This prompts the businesswoman to have a big idea that could help Ryan overcome his insecurities – she suggests he should make motivational videos.
However, Ryan is still clearly uncomfortable with his appearance and is adamant that nobody would want to see his face on screen.
In later scenes, Daisy attempts to chat to Ryan, but he gives her short shrift, leaving her hurt.
But things take another devastating turn for Ryan.
Once alone in the flat, Ryan opens a parcel addressed to a fake name and takes out illegal steroids and injects himself.
How will the new addiction storyline play out for Ryan?
As mentioned above, Ryan was the victim of a horrific acid attack when he tried to protect Daisy from her stalker Justin Rutherford.
The unstable and troublesome character received comeuppance as he was found guilty of his crimes earlier this year.
And while Daisy is slowly recovering from the trauma Justin left her with, Ryan’s appearance has made it harder for him to move on.
He was also met with a brutal rejection when his ex-girlfriend Alya Nazir dashed all hopes of them reconciling, which only further impacted his self-confidence.
Could his steroid addiction make everything worse?
