His co-host Alex Jones quizzed him on his health as they opened the show, telling him that viewers had been worried.

Rylan was forced to miss his BBC Radio 2 show during his “extended stay” in hospital.

He said: “I’m good. So nice to be back. You know me, I just love a little drama.”

The star continued: “I’m very good now, thank you. I had a little bit of a dodgy time but I’m good.”

Alex added: “You’re looking well. Back on track.”

Rylan couldn’t resist making a joke about the situation and added: “I am. It’s a lot of make-up.”

Last week the It Takes Two presenter shared a picture of his arm with a cannula in.

He wrote: “Finally home after an extended trip to Costa del hospital. Slowly on the mend. Won’t be on the wireless tomorrow. Resting up. Be back soon.”

The much-loved star recently opened up about being hospitalised after becoming dangerously thin and struggling with his mental health following his split from husband Dan Neal, 42.

He also admitted he was drinking more and that he had “gone out a few times and drunk more than I usually would”.
