Rylan shocks fans with his comeback on E4's Sex Rated
Former Strictly: It Takes Two presenter Rylan Clark has made a surprising return to television with a new show called Sex Rated on E4. The 34-year-old announced his departure from the BBC spin-off earlier this year, stating that he wanted to explore new projects. On Wednesday night, Rylan marked his comeback by hosting the provocative series, which is even more intense than Naked Attraction.
Sex positive relationships and intimate discussions
Airing after the 9pm watershed, Sex Rated features a group of ex-partners discussing intimate details of their sex lives when they were together. Sex educator Ruby Rare joins Rylan on the sofa to provide advice and explain some of the terms used throughout the show. In the first episode, Rylan and Ruby were joined by Alexandros, who rated himself highly in the bedroom. His ex-partners confirmed his rating, with one revealing that Alexandros made her "squirt".
Viewers react to the show's controversial content
As the episode aired, viewers took to social media to express their shock. Comments included "Wtf is going on?" and "These Channel 4 shows, & I'm always like wtf is this... but I'm still here?". However, some were relieved that Sex Rated did not feature explicit nudity like Naked Attraction.
Rylan's role in the series and his break from TV
Before the series aired, Rylan described Sex Rated as a show that explores "sex positivity" and delves into the love lives of the nation. He explained that he will help unlucky-in-love individuals understand their relationship mistakes by speaking to their ex-partners. Rylan compared himself to "Cupid, but six-foot-four and from Essex". Earlier this year, Rylan took a break from TV presenting to reflect on what kind of show he wanted to host in the future, acknowledging the difficulty of figuring that out while engaged in various projects.
