Sanditon follows the life of Charlotte Heywood in the seaside town, but who will be joining her.

Despite being cancelled, Sanditon has persevered and returned for a second season.
There are both familiar faces and new additions to the cast of Sanditon.
Most noticeably Theo James, who played Charlotte’s handsome but conflicting love interest Sidney Parker, has left the cast.

Jane Austen’s heroine finds herself back in Sanditon, nine months after the end of first series with not one but two new men hot on her heels.
Eagle-eyed viewers may recognise the 28-year-old from her roles in Reign, Medici and Changeland.
Crystal Clarke

Where would Charlotte be without best friend Georgiana Lambe.
The West Indian heiress is outspoken like Charlotte and also ended up heartbroken in series one – maybe these besties will bond further over ice cream and breakups.
Crystal is best known for her role in Ordeal by Innocence as Tina Argyll but she has also starred in Black Mirror and the Star Wars movies.
Rosie Graham
Rosie Graham with on screen sister Rose Williams
Newbie Rosie Graham joins the cast as Charlotte’s younger sister Alison Heywood.
She is hopelessly romantic, perfect for Sanditon.
The young actress has not appeared in much but stars in 2022’s The School for Good and Evil.
Anne Reid

Familiar face Anne Reid will also return to Sanditon to play Lady Denham.
As grande dame of Sanditon, Lady Denham presides over the estate and lives in vast wealth.
Anne Reid has appeared in a whole host of British shows including Coronation Street, Dinnerladies, Last Tango in Halifax and Doctor Who.
Kris Marshall
Kris Marshall starred in shows like Death in Paradise and My Family
Kris Marshall is also returning as Tom Parker, who is desperately trying to turn Sanditon into a desired holiday resort.
Though the fire in series one may have temporarily dashed his plans, can Tom rebuild and move forward in the new season?
Kris is one of the more famed faces on the cast, known for My Family and Death in Paradise as well as the holiday favourite Love Actually.
Tom Weston-Jones
Tom Weston-Jones as Colonel Lennox
Handsome new addition to the cast Tom Weston-Jones brings Colonel Francis Lennox to life.
He quickly begins to pursue Charlotte in hopes of wooing her, despite her heartbreak in the previous season.
Most recently, Tom starred in Netflix fantasy series Shadow and Bone as General Zlatan.
Ben Lloyd-Hughes
Ben Lloyd-Hughes will play Alexander Colbourne
Another double-barrelled actor to chase the affections of our leading lady, Charlotte.
Alexander Colbourne, Ben Lloyd-Hughes‘ character, is thoughtful and caring – could he bring Charlotte back from her anti-love mindset?
Ben has been in shows such as the British classic Skins, War & Peace, and Industry as well as the unfinished film series Divergent.
Jack Fox
Jack Fox is a member of the Fox Family
Villainous Sir Edward Denham will return to take more swipes at Lady Denham’s fortune.
Handsome and devious Edward, portrayed by Jack Fox, is known for his charm with the ladies and extravagant spending.
In real life Jack is just as handsome but much less villainous and has appeared in Fresh Meat and is part of the Fox family of actors.

When is Sanditon season 2 on ITV?
For fans missing this Austen world, Sanditon will be back on ITV on July 22, 2022.
There are six episodes which will air weekly at 9pm on ITV.
The whole series is available already on BritBox to stream as well as season one.
