The Duchess of York refused to discuss ex-hubby in the show
Sarah Ferguson, also known as Fergie, was on the verge of signing one of the biggest deals in the history of ITV1's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!. However, talks collapsed when the Duchess of York insisted on not being asked about her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, whom she still lives with despite their divorce in 1996.
The allure of getting a celebrity with an interesting life story is the possibility of sharing it with the campmates. But for Fergie, the thought of being put on the spot with millions watching at home was too much. Both sides were unwilling to compromise, leading to the breakdown in negotiations.
Fergie, who is the mother of Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, has stood by Andrew amidst the Jeffrey Epstein scandal and claims of his involvement with a 17-year-old girl. Last year, ex-rugby player Mike Tindall, who is married to Zara, the niece of the King, participated in the show and chose to remain discreet about his royal connections.
Stars of this year's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, including singer Marvin Humes, food critic Grace Dent, and former EastEnders actress Danielle Harold, arrived at Brisbane airport ready to face challenges in the Australian jungle.
Fergie's spokesperson denied the claims, stating that there had been no approach and she had not considered appearing on the show.
Former EastEnders actress Danielle Harold ready for some Aussie sunshine
Actress Danielle Harold, 31, arrived in Australia excited to embrace the sunshine and shed her fake tan and make-up. She jokingly said she was there to surf with Nigel Farage, adding that she had heard it was a great spot.
Singer Marvin Humes and food critic Grace Dent also touched down in Australia, prepared to take on the challenges in the jungle.
