Before deciding to pack it all in, Chris went on strike – leaving everyone frustrated, including Danny Dyer who branded him a ‘child’.
He refused to take part in challenges and embarked on an 11-hour silent protest.
After moaning at fellow contestants, including Paul Gascoigne, for speaking “tragically” about their lives, Chris pulled out of a challenge halfway through and vented his fury.
He moaned: “Look, when it comes to a fight I back down from no man, but I’m 56, I’m not a boy any more and my body has been through a great deal of trauma.”
Gazza told the others: “Personally, I think he’s scared of the dark and should leave. I’m telling you now, he’s fighting the dark, it’s got to him.”
After he made the decision to quit, those watching at home took to Twitter to discuss it.
One person wrote: “So glad Chris left #ScaredOfTheDark.”
A second said: “Chris Eubank. Nah. Good riddance.”
While a third added: “Thank god he’s gone.”
And a fourth commented: “I’m happy Chris E has left.”
The Celeb Report previously told how Chris left the show after not being allowed to smoke cannabis on the show.
A Channel 4 insider said he grew grouchy and desperate for his weed before leaving midway through.
A source said: “Chris was a great signing and really interesting figure, but he was very restless and irritable. It just became apparent that he couldn’t cope and wanted out. Not being able to smoke his cannabis seemed to be a big issue.
“He made it very clear to other people on the show that he wanted to smoke and felt he should be allowed to, but obviously taking illegal drugs on a mainstream TV show just isn’t going to happen.”
The show saw eight celebrities enter a bunker and live in darkness for a week.
