FANS slammed Chrishell Stause after the Season 4 premiere of Selling Sunset for continuing to talk about her ex-husband Justin Hartley despite both having moved on with new love interests.
Comments rolled in on social media from fans of the show after the new season dropped on Wednesday.
The reality star and the This Is Us actor split two years ago, but he still seems to be a topic of conversation on the series.
While talking to co-stars Heather Rae Young and Mary Fitzgerald, Chrishell opened up about seeing her ex remarry.
Justin tied the knot with actress Sophia Pernas in May 2021 after their divorce was finalized in February 2021.
“I’ve never been in a better place in my career. I really feel empowered of being a different — a better version of myself than I ever have been,” Chrishell revealed, explaining that she feels like she has finally moved on from her former Days of Our Lives co-star.
“And I feel like I’ve found my voice. There’s no anger left there because now I’ve realized that’s not something I wanted for myself.”
“I mean, if he wants to have 50 wives, go live your best life because I really feel like I am. …,” she continued.
“Once you know something wasn’t right, whether it was your decision or not, now, you are where you’re meant to be.”
During a confessional interview, the real estate agent told the camera: “My ex-husband, Justin, is remarried to someone I know from back in the day pretty well.
“And a lot of things made sense after finding that out. I wish them the best. I just, you know, it actually if anything, it felt good to know that. It felt like a little bit of closure,” she added.
That was not the only time the Netflix star mentioned her ex on the new season.
Chrishell again brought up her past love in another episode after sharing that she wants to move to the Valley.
“When I was talking about how amazing the Valley was, I did mean it,” she said. “That being said, I didn’t want to be bumping into people like my ex, so I came back to my roots, back in the hills.”
NOT SUPPORTIVE
The TV star also reflected on the unexpected split, looking back on the lack of support she received from some of her fellow Selling Sunset stars.
“To kick someone when they’re down is just something that you really should never do. Obviously, it was painful at the time,” Chrishell said referring to co-star Davina Potratz questioning her at Christine Quinn’s wedding during the season three finale.
“A lot of time has gone by. I really don’t hold a grudge but I do hold people accountable. I think there’s a difference.”
She later talked about the interaction with the girls saying: “She was taunting me, trying to get me to talk when I clearly was shutting down and trying to just get through the night.”
Later in the season, Chrishell explained beef that she had with Christine as well for “rumors” that she was spreading about her divorce.
“Christine started these rumors as to why I was really divorced,” she said. “Rumors that I was, like, sleeping with these people. It’s, like, it’s not true. I was madly in love with my husband. I was devastated.”
During the final episode, Chrishell discussed what she was looking for in a partner as she tries to figure out her type: “I’m not gonna date an actor again or something like that,” Chrishell told Heather.
“I’m at the place where I know anything can happen and sometimes it could come from an unexpected place.”
While many are happy for the star for moving forward, some Twitter users have had enough with her mentioning her past.
One person tweeted: “Why this girl still mentioning her ex-husband #SellingSunset”
Another viewer agreed writing: “Take a shot every time Chrishell Stause mentions her past and being homeless…don’t you will die #SellingSunset”
MOVED ON
Chrishell eventually found happiness with broker and co-star Jason Oppenheimer, 44, after a brief romance with Dancing With the Stars pro Keo Motsepe.
The actress revealed the news of their newfound relationship in an Instagram post of the pair vacationing in Capri, Italy with her costars.
Shortly after, her ex Justin took to Instagram to share a photo of his wife Sofia smiling for the camera while at a restaurant, followed by a selfie of the couple.
The actor also shared another solo shot of the 32-year-old enjoying oysters, while the post concluded with Justin posing for a selfie with a dinosaur skeleton.
Alongside the photos, Justin wrote: “Happy Birthday to my beautiful Sofia! This amazing woman makes me laugh out loud every single day. Here’s to taking down oysters all over the world! I love you very much!”
Justin and Chrishell, 40, tied the knot in 2017, but he filed for divorce in November 2019.
‘BLINDSIDED‘
Fans of Selling Sunset watched Chrishell’s divorce to Justin unfold, which was a major storyline this past season.
Chrishell claimed she was blindsided by her husband’s filing and broke down in tears to her costar Mary Fitzgerald during filming.
She told Mary: “I’m just kind of in shock with it all.”
“He just blindsided you?” she was asked.
After nodding, Chrishell said: “It’s just a lot all at once because everybody in the whole world knows.
“I love him so much. This was my best friend. Who do I talk to now?”
