Seven massive Coronation Street spoilers as Fiz Stape is caught up by her serial killer’s wife past

ALTHOUGH she has set out for a fresh start away from the cobbles, Fiz Stape doesn’t get to escape all of the drama.

The long-term Coronation Street character is exposed this week when the truth catches up with her. Here’s what you need to know.

Fiz can’t escape her past this week

1. Fiz is haunted by her past

In recent years, following her ill-fated marriage with John Stape, Fiz Stape (played by Corrie legend Jennie McAlpine) has remained focused keeping herself out of trouble.

But while she has done all she can to put the past behind her, troubling memories get back to the surface.

Determined to get a clean break from her past as a serial killer’s wife, Fiz has mentioned nothing about her relationship with John to her partner Phill Whittaker (Jamie Kenna).

This could all change in a surprise turn of events.

Coming up, Fiz meets up with Phill and his friends, Graham and Angela.

Sadly for Fiz, Graham recognises her from her trial and explains that he was the solicitor for the prosecution.

With the truth slowly unravelling, Fiz confides in Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) how she’s never told Phill about her crazy ex-husband in case he ran a mile.

In later scenes, while Fiz is in the Underworld factory, Michael’s fascinated to realise she was married to John Stape the serial killer.

Awash with humiliation and unable to cope, Fiz storms out.

What is Phill hiding?

2. Phill keeps a secret

But it looks like Phill has some secrets of his own to keep and Tyrone will begin to see clearly through his act.

This week, Tyrone spots Phill in Victoria Garden handing a large envelope to a man he doesn’t recognise.

Tyrone’s intrigued, aware that Phill is meant to be in Leeds.

What was the envelope containing?

Will Phill tell Fiz what he’s hiding?

Or could Tyrone find out on his own?

Tim suffers from a health setback

3. Tim goes to hospital

In recent weeks, Tim Metcalfe (played by Joe Duttine) has tried to keep his impotence a secret from his wife Sally (Sally Dynevor).

But the truth catches up with the cabbie this week.

Tim buys some tickets from Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) for the charity raffle in memory of Oliver – and wins a romantic night for two in her hotel.

An excited Sally packs her things but Tim is preoccupied and orders some erectile dysfunction tablets, ignoring the warning label about heart conditions.

Tim remains optimistic but after kissing Sally passionately, his heart starts to pound and he becomes short of breath.

He eventually confesses to Sally that he has taken the tablet and collapses on the bed, forcing his wife to call an ambulance.

Sally and Ronnie get the shock of a lifetime when Tim lashes out

4. Ronnie gets attacked

The situation goes from bad to worse as Tim brutally attacks another Coronation Street resident following his stay in hospital.

Aggie Bailey’s former flame and brother-in-law Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) is at the receiving end of Tim’s fury.

It all begins when Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) shows Tim and Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) his new doorbell camera app.

Meanwhile, Sally and Ronnie pass by No.1 and all hell breaks loose soon after.

Tim overhears Ronnie telling Sally he’s sorry her romantic getaway with Tim was a flop, which leads to the driver leaping to the wrong conclusion.

Blinded by jealous rage, Tim punches the Rovers Return resident in the face.

How will Sally and Ronnie react?

Abi strikes back against Imran Habeeb

5. Abi hatches a plan for Alfie

Elsewhere, Abi Webster (Sally Carman) has plans to take her son Alfie out of the country after Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo) won the custody battle.

The mechanic takes action during Alfie’s naming ceremony as members of the Barlow family – Toyah, Kelly, Nick, Leanne and Adam – gather around with Imran for the event.

Abi enters and seizes the opportunity to take some pictures of her son.

Later on, she secretly meets up with Matty, an old contact of hers, and hands him a couple of envelopes before ordering him to work his magic.

In other scenes, Imran is horrified when he finds out his wife Toyah (Georgia Taylor) has allowed Abi to take Alfie out for a walk alone.

The solicitor rushes out and finds Abi at Red Rec.

Abi then calls Matty while in Victoria Garden and confirms she’s happy to wait a week for the fake passports to get to her.

Tracy has revenge on her mind

6. Tracy gets revenge on Daniel

Abi won’t be the only one scheming to get even with another Corrie resident.

Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) is angry with her adoptive half-brother Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) after she learned he knew all about Max Turner’s involvement in her daughter Amy’s spiking.

Known for her manipulative and villainous streak, the florist puts it to good use once again as she comes up with a plan to avenge her teen daughter.

This week, things finally seem to be looking up for Daniel as headteacher Mrs Orla Crawshaw tells him about a permanent teaching post, and suggests he should apply for it.

Outside the flower shop, Daniel’s ex Nicky Wheatley (Kimberly Hart-Simpson) begs Ken Barlow (William Roache) and Tracy to cut Daniel some slack.

Ken is willing to follow her advice and later shares a laugh with his son – before being reprimanded by a shocked Tracy and Amy.

Later on, Tracy rails at Daniel and threatens to report him to Mrs Crawshaw for hiding the fact Max spiked Amy.

She then lashes out at her adoptive father Ken for taking Daniel’s side.

Determined to cause more trouble for Daniel, Tracy calls at the barber’s to recruit David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) on her mission to sabotage Daniel’s career.

Will Tracy and David – two well-known schemers and former troublemakers on the cobbles – put their heads together to ruin Daniel’s life?

Corrie bosses will pay tribute to victims of the Manchester Arena bombing

7. A sombre tribute is in store

But while some characters are too busy setting their minds on revenge, two other Coronation Street residents are willing to put their differences aside.

This week, soap bosses pay tribute to the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing with a touching and solemn scene.

Eileen Grimshaw (portrayed by Sue Cleaver) and Gail Platt (Helen Worth) will place flowers by the Arena memorial bench to pay their respects.

The sombre scene will mark the fifth anniversary of so many lives lost.

Corrie stars were hit close to home when 22 people died during the tragedy (including a soap superfan) as the iconic ITV drama is filmed in a MediaCity UK, located in Salford, Manchester.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
