VIEWERS have been sceptical of him as soon as Phill Whittaker made his first steps in Weatherfield.
Hope Stape is the one to finally uncover one of his biggest secrets. Get the lowdown on all the Coronation Street drama.
1. Hope acts out
Volatile and uncontrollable Hope (portrayed by Isabella Flanagan) strikes again this week, determined to protect her mother Fiz (Jennie McAlpine).
This time, the eleven-year-old makes sure Phill Whittaker (Jamie Kenna) knows not to mess with her, despite him believing they had a good relationship.
But why is Fiz’s daughter acting out?
Coming up, Fiz’s former flame Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) remains wary of Phill, especially after catching him with a mysterious envelope in earlier scenes.

However, the truth only begins to unravel when Hope borrows Phill’s laptop – and makes a shocking discovery.
In true Stape style, she retaliates by taking control of a giant digger left unattended by someone working on Phill and Fiz’s fancy new house.
Phill hears the noise of the digger on the driveway and dashes round the house to see what’s going on.
He’s horrified to find Hope.
As she pulls a lever, the digger’s arm swings round, smashing the windscreen on his car.
How will Phill react?
More importantly, what is he hiding?
Could this be the end for his relationship with Fiz?
2. Phill proposes to Fiz
This could be unlikely, although Tyrone Dobbs would perhaps be happy for the couple to break up – which could allow him to rekindle things with his former flame.
Despite having his big secret exposed, Phill remains convinced Fiz is the love of his life.
When Tyrone calls at Phill’s house to collect Fiz’s things, he gets involved in a row with his rival and makes a grab for him.
Unfortunately, both men lose their balance and fall headlong into the wet cement on the patio.
In a panic, Phill scours the wet concrete, revealing he has lost an engagement ring, which Tyrone eventually finds.
Later on, Phill pulls out the ring and asks Fiz to marry him.
What will she say?
3. Abi snatches Alfie
Drama is picking up a pace for Abi Webster (Sally Carman) as her plan to take Alfie away becomes clearer.
This week, Abi asks Imran (Charlie De Melo) and Toyah (Georgia Taylor) if she could have Alfie for a whole day the following Monday.
While Toyah tries to keep the peace and agrees, Imran is more reluctant but is forced to go along with it.
Abi has already completed the first steps of her plan to leave the cobbles and is later seen getting two fake passports for her and Alfie.
And she has even already picked their destination – mother and son will soon leave the country for a warmer, sunnier climate in Costa Rica.
4. Kevin drops a bombshell
However, while she rushes to get everything ready for her exit with Alfie, Abi gets the shock of a lifetime from her husband Kevin (Michael Le Vell).
Abi cheated on Kevin with Imran in October, 2021, and the infidelity caused them to separate.
The mechanic admits that he has never stopped loving her, despite the difficult hurdles they have had to overcome during their romance.
Kevin isn’t enough to stop Abi from leaving and she responds by telling him that she’ll be leaving the following day and taking Alfie with her.
Realising that Kevin is the only resident to know all about her plan, she pleads with him to keep quiet but this doesn’t last long.
Kevin confides in his sister Debbie (Sue Devaney) about Abi’s plan and the latter asserts that he has two choices.
He can either tell Imran all about Abi’s crazy initiative or hope that she gets away with it.
Later on, Kevin approaches Imran on the street… but will he actually throw Abi under the bus?
5. Imran and Toyah hear from Elsie
Unaware that Abi is planning to flee the country with Alfie, Imran and Toyah get a surprise of their own this week which could make their dream of a big happy family a reality.
The young married couple have taken in different foster children as Toyah knows she can’t have children of her own, including four-year-old Elsie.
But the child was taken to a new family after Imran was revealed to be Alfie’s father.
Yet after Abi asks her to take Alfie for the day, Toyah is in the café when she takes a surprising call from Lou.
The social worker requests an urgent meeting to discuss Elsie – but what could it entail?
Could Toyah and Imran get Elsie back?
6. Summer is rushed to hospital
While she was pushed to get help for her eating disorder, Summer Spellman (portrayed by Harriet Bibby) is still struggling to handle her type 1 diabetes along with her body image issues.
Next week, Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) confronts Summer and accuses her of failing to take her meds regularly.
This leads to the teen flying off the handle and storming out.
Later on, having demolished two bags of crisps, Summer dispenses her insulin down the sink, unaware of the havoc this will cause.
But when Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) returns home with the takeaway, Summer assures him she has taken her insulin.
She then checks her blood sugar only to find out that it’s far too high and begins to panic.
However, upon checking her blood sugar levels again, she is relieved to see that they have settled down.
In later scenes, Summer sets off for an exam.
Things takes a worrying turn during her maths exam as her vision becomes blurred.
Summer is horrified when she realises she has left her diabetic kit at home and an ambulance is immediately called.
While she is being loaded into the ambulance, Summer tearfully explains to Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) that her blood sugar level is sky high.
Will she be okay?
7. Sean gets a love interest
Bold and witty Sean Tully (portrayed by Antony Cotton) has become a fan-favourite among viewers of the ITV drama.
But while many off-screen have a soft spot for him, the Underworld machinist is struggling to find someone to sweep him off of his feet.
This could all change as a new character is introduced this week in the Rovers.
While at the local pub, Sean bumps into a man called Frank who immediately shows signs he’s smitten.
Frank flirts with Sean before eventually leaving – prompting Rovers landlady Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) to urge Sean to go after him.
