Seven massive Coronation Street spoilers as Peter Barlow is the target of a vile bet

SEVERAL months after his liver transplant, Peter Barlow is back in hospital for a new surgery.

But he becomes the target of a vile game. Get the lowdown on this week’s Coronation Street drama.

Peter Barlow finds out his life has been toyed with

But he will seemingly opt for physically lashing out

1. Peter is horrified by a bet on his life

Long-term Corrie resident Peter (portrayed by Chris Gascoyne) has been far less involved in all the drama on the cobbles as of late.

As viewers may remember, the Street Cars driver went through a life-changing liver transplant in 2021, when his health was rapidly deteriorating due to his reliance on alcohol.

This week, however, Peter is catapulted back into the spotlight as he attends his consultation with new head doctor Dr Henry Thorne (Killing Eve actor Dominic Mafham).

He undergoes a new operation and gives his trust to the doctor who once saved his life again.

But he later finds out Dr Thorne was gloating to a colleague about how he rushed Peter’s operation in order to win a bet.

The shocking discovery will set off a series of harsh consequences – but nurse Aggie Bailey (portrayed by Lorna Laidlaw) will also be impacted.

2. Aggie gets bullied at work

The new head doctor has it in for the matriarch of the Bailey family.

While she began working under his orders, Aggie got wind of his reputation.

But while Dr Thorne may be a stickler for detail, he’ll also torment the nurse this week.

The surgeon is firstly annoyed with her as he believes Aggie was trying to make him look bad in front of Peter, during his consultation.

This prompted Dr Thorne to issue her with a verbal warning.

But things go from bad to worse after Aggie hears about his bet on Peter’s life.

Aggie tells another nurse that Dr Thorne was reported and later learns that all of his operations have been cancelled until further notice.

Still evidently seething from their previous encounter, Dr Thorne firmly believes Aggie is to blame for his downfall.

He accosts her and proceeds to threaten her once again, announcing he plans to make her life at the hospital a misery.

How will dutiful and stoic Aggie react to the threat?

Could Peter help her?

Ken is on the wrong side of the law this week

3. Ken is wrongfully arrested

Peter isn’t the only member of his family to go through turmoil in the cobbles this week.

His father Ken (soap legend William Roache) will be getting into trouble with the law – but nothing is as it seems.

It all begins when Stu (Bill Fellows) asks Ken to give him a lift to the wholesalers.

Ken agrees and jumps into his car but while both characters are there, an officer accuses Stu of an attempted break-in.

Things go from bad to worse when Ken is assumed to be the getaway driver.

The mishap gets all cleared up but when Stu leaves the police station, the officer asserts that he’s had a lucky escape given his track record.

Sadly for Stu, this is just the beginning.

Stu tries to get back into Yasmeen’s good books

4. Yasmeen throws Stu out

Sadly for him, Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) heard of the incident and tells Stu how disappointed she is.

The Speed Daal co-owner then tells him it would be best if he found another place to stay the night.

Once again, Stu can rely on Ken for giving him a bed to sleep in but he remains determined to get back into Yasmeen’s good books.

Stu serenades Yasmeen with a song to apologise.

However, she stays unimpressed and orders him to leave.

Is there any hope for Stu and Yasmeen?

Faye and Craig’s relationship may be in danger

5. Faye gets devastating news

Elsewhere, Ellie Leach‘s Faye Windass gets some troubling news this week, shortly after her false pregnancy.

While in the medical centre, next week, Dr. Gaddas tells Faye that she won’t be able to have anymore children as she’s suffering from an early menopause.

A shocked Faye breaks the news to her father Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) before returning home and telling Craig Tinker (Colson Smith).

But there’s another bombshell in store for her.

In later scenes, Craig admits to her that his mother Beth (Lisa George) reckons he should end their relationship due to her inability to have children.

Will Craig really end things with Faye?

Imran and Toyah tie the knot

6. Imran marries Toyah

After many obstacles, Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) finally get married.

The ceremony takes place in front of Nick, Leanne, Kelly and Adam.

The party then piles into the Rovers but Imran’s custody battle for baby Alfie is still weighing on his mind.

The solicitor continues to resort to underhanded tactics to get what he wants.

He confronts Abi in the street and asserts that she’s an unfit mother.

Soon, Kelly Neelan gets involved in the rift and begs Imran not to take Alfie away from Abi.

When Dean later approaches her hoping to score some drugs, Abi hands him some cash to get rig of him – unaware Ben has caught her on camera.

Ben later shows Imran the pictures he took of the pair and suggests he’s willing to lie in court.

Abi retaliates by stealing Toyah away

7. Abi gets revenge

However, Imran isn’t the only one putting up a fight for Alfie as Abi Webster (Sally Carman) is just as determined to get custody of her baby.

Before Toyah can tie the knot with Imran, she is whisked away by the mechanic who tries to persuade her to cancel the wedding after jumping in to the driver’s seat of the wedding car.

This is due to the fact Abi realised that Imran has hired Ben to get dirt on her.

But what does she really tell Toyah?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on ITV.
