GREAT British Sewing Bee fans had a simple message for its new host Sara Pascoe as she took over tonight.
Many had feared the 33-year-old comedian would be too hard an act to follow -but many told her she’d done a superb job.
One wrote: “@sarapascoe is a magnificent addition – difficult to follow @joelycett but she’s great.”
Another tweeted: “Well done #SaraPascoe. I thought @joelycett was going to be a hard act to follow but she’s brilliant.”
Joe announced earlier this year that he had decided to step down from Sewing Bee after hosting it for three years.
Sarah tonight took over as host alongside judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young – and 12 new amateur sewing champs.

Fellow stand-up comedian Sara, 40, stood in for Joe on the Christmas special last year before being invited back as main host.
She opened the show on Wednesday night walking along a cliff edge cradling what looked like a baby.
But, whipping off the blanket to reveal a sewing machine, she said: “Congratulations, it’s a… new series of Sewing Bee.
“You have been blessed with adorable new sewers, a cute new presenter and a nice big house for us all to live in up here in Yorkshire.
“Welcome to the Great British Sewing Bee I hope you like sewing!
“One historic wool mill. Twelve new home sewers. Each week the sewers will face three challenges to test their precision, creativity and ability to fit to a model.”
Joe is famous for hosting Channel 4 consumer rights show Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back where he takes on high-profile companies.
In 2020 he changed his name to Hugo Boss after the German luxury brand of the same name targeted a small brewery.
