Love Island star Shaughna Phillips has responded to criticism she received for putting her baby in the front seat of the car.
The 29-year-old reality TV personality faced backlash earlier this year for the decision, which some deemed as 'dangerous'. However, Phillips has now revealed how she dealt with the criticism so soon after giving birth.
Phillips, who welcomed her baby Lucia in April, explained that she often drives alone with her daughter and experienced postnatal anxiety, making it difficult for her to have Lucia in the back seat.
She told Heat magazine: "I found out that you can take a baby in the front if you turn the airbag off. So, that’s what I do. And some woman said, ‘That is so bad, just because it’s legal doesn’t mean it’s OK.’ And I replied, ‘Well, how is she going to be able to turn the radio over if she doesn’t sit in the front?'"
Phillips also addressed her relationship status, stating that she is currently single after splitting from Lucia's father, Billy, who was arrested and charged with drug offences. She added that she has no plans to date again anytime soon, stating that her daughter doesn't need a stranger to complete their family.
It's clear that Shaughna Phillips is not one to shy away from responding to trolls and standing up for her choices as a mother.
