The popular series revolves around a pair of celebrities who set off on a quest to discover where they come from – and Shaun‘s family tree was soon put under the spotlight.

Soon into the episode, Shaun found out that he was almost half Nigerian – but it confirmed to him something that nearly resorted him to tears.

Taken aback, he affirmed: “It does clarify what I’ve been thinking for years that my fourth fathers on the African continent where, basically, sold off in their millions.”
While unearthing secrets from their past, Anne travelled with Shaun to Jamaica on an emotional voyage of discovery to uncover more about his bloodline.
Initially, Shaun comes face to face with an uncomfortable past that turns out to be not quite as it first appears.
Against all expectations, he manages to trace his family back eight generations to the early 1700s and finds an ancestor who amassed a small fortune in Cuba.
During the episode, Anne also found out that she is connected to royalty.
The quiz genius finds out she is 19th cousin to Queen Elizabeth II, 95, and King Robert the Bruce was her 20-times great grandfather.
Anne is shocked by the revelation, but then explains that her grandmother had previously revealed this bit of family history, but she did not believe her claims.
