Sheridan Smith is a judge on new show Starstruck

Jason Manford – who is on the judging panel with Sheridan – said: “Seen a few comments about Sheridan being on TV a lot this week.

“It’s not sommat she’s in charge of, she would’ve filmed those 3 excellent shows last year & some scheduler decided they went on this week.

“So chill out, also she’s excellent & you’re lucky to have her.”

Jason joined the 40-year-old, Adam Lambert and Beverly Knight on the panel for new the ITV singing contest, which sees four sets of superfans impersonating stars.

But viewers couldn’t resist pointing out that Sheridan has been on TV a lot recently – appearing in three big dramas, Four Lives, The Teacher and No Return.

Taking to Twitter to discuss her latest appearance, one person wrote: “Gosh this Sheridan Smith is everywhere on British TV at the moment.”

Another said:  “She’s on literally every channel at the moment and I’m here for it @Sheridansmith1
?
.”

A third added: “@Sheridansmith1 thought I might have been all Sheridaned out after “Four Lives” and “The teacher” which were both  awesome BTW but just finished watching “No Return” what a brilliant actress you are, such heartfelt and emotional scenes, keep up the good work.
?
.”

While another remarked: “Is this some sort of #SheridanSmith season on TV right now?! Three big dramas #FourLives #TheTeacher and #NoReturn and now #Starstruck she’s been on in the last few weeks or so. She’s turning into the new #BradleyWalsh lol
?

?
.”

But others praised the talented actress, with one replying to Jason: “That sounds like people being mean..
?
if anything we should be praising her talents.

“I’m no actor but the story lines she’s had to portray must have been exhausting for her, emotionally. Especially with being a new mom.. #amazingtalent @Sheridansmith1.”

Sheridan, who rose to fame in The Royale Family, said of taking part in the singing show: “Growing up, I always loved watching Saturday night TV with my family so I’m thrilled to be joining Starstruck.

“Creating Cilla Black for TV, I know first-hand how much goes into becoming an iconic music star, so I can’t wait to see what some of the contestants do with our modern music acts and true icons.

“And with everything else that’s going on at the moment, this is just the type of show we can all enjoy together!”
