SIMON Cowell baffled fans with his appearance as he cosied up for a snap with his America’s Got Talent co-stars.
The show’s head-honcho, who is making his TV return following a horror bike accident which saw him shatter his back, didn’t look his usual stylish self in the group shot – which only depicted his head.
The AGT crew were captured surrounding a white sofa on the Instagram snap, which judge Heidi Klum posted to her page.
The model stunned in double denim as she munched a crudite while standing by Sofia Vergara, also sporting a blue outfit.
Terry Crews finished the line-up behind the furniture while a beaming Howie Mandel, sporting a snazzy pair of red and blue specs.
Yet it was dad-of-one Simon, 61, who appeared the odd one out, appearing to slide into the corner of the shot.
He rested his head on the crisp white cushion and stared into the lens with a rather blank look on his face, in contrast to the picture-perfect poses of his co-stars.
The shot cut him off at the neck, so it appeared his head was simply floating in space.
The mishap was likely due to Simon not being aware the image was being taken, or he could have felt a little under the weather.
Heidi seemed oblivious as she posted the picture with the words: “I have the best time with you guys
@sofiavergara @terrycrews @simoncowell @howiemandel.”
Previously, The Celeb Report exclusively revealed Simon would return to filming for AGT by the end of March.
The star is battling back to fitness after breaking his back eight months ago.
He is clocking up around 40 miles a week on the treadmill as he prepares for a return to screens.
A TV source said: “Simon can’t wait to get back to doing what he loves.
He’s been focused on his return for months.”
Last month, Simon, 61, told Terri Seymour about the electric bike accident at his Malibu home last year.
He said: “It could have been a lot worse. When I saw the X-ray, I really nearly could have smashed my spine to pieces, so I literally wouldn’t have been able to walk.
“I knew I’d broken my back the minute I landed, it was really, really kind of sudden and it hurt.”
The star added of his partner Lauren Silverman and son Eric: “She was amazing.
“Both her and Eric, they were like my support. I couldn’t have gotten through it without them, so we got closer.”
The X Factor judge has credited his svelte new figure and weight loss to a vegan diet.
X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent boss Simon and America’s Got Talent will hit US TV screens in May.
