Spider-Man fans thrilled as Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire ‘set to return’ for third movie in clash of Peter Parkers

REMEMBER going to the cinema? Well, Spider-Man fans can look forward to a treat as Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire are “set to return” for a third movie in clash of Peter Parkers.

Evil genius Doctor Octopus, played by Alfred Molina, will also be back to strike fear in the hearts of everyone with his mechanical tentacles.

Spider-Man will be getting a reboot and bring together past, present and very much past

The plot for the yet untitled third installment of the franchise has been described by current Spider-Man Tom Holland as: “absolutely insane”.

According to reports from Collider, Andrew Garfield and OG Tobey Maguire will join Tom for a multi-verse of Spider-Men to tackle an array of enemies.

Jamie Foxx is also rumoured to reprise his role as Electro, which would make sense to fight Andrew’s Spidey.

Andrew Garfield will be back on screen

As will hopefully Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst

The fantastical jumping Spider-Man extravaganza all hinges on whether Maguire’s appearance can be agreed between Sony and Marvel.

Excitingly, other beloved characters will also be showing up with Emma Stone rumoured to be reprising her role as Gwen Stacy, and Kirsten Dunst to play Mary Jane again.

They will also be joined by Zendaya, Tony Revolori, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon and Jon Watts will be back in the directorial role, too.

Benedict Cumberbatch will also be getting involved to play Doctor Strange.

Spider-Man: Far From Home was the highest grossing Spider-Man film of all time when it was released in 2019, so coupled with the absolutely bonkers storyline, it looks like it’ll be another blockbuster for sure.

According to internet rumours (always reliable), shooting for the new film started in New York in October, and the film is currently pencilled in for release on December 17 2021.
