The pair have also co-hosted their own show, Chris and Meg’s Wild Summer, and have many stories to tell about one another.
During a chat with Radio Times, Megan revealed an unusual and somewhat grim request her step-dad had just sent her.
She said: “I actually got a message from him half an hour ago asking me to go and collect some red squirrel poo for him.
“So that’s a job for this afternoon.”
Megan also opened up about living with dyslexia and how it impacts on her broadcasting.
She said: “I think my dyslexia does change the way that I broadcast, because I try to speak about science in a way that I would have understood when I was younger.
“I’m like that with my writing – I’m a very slow writer. So I try to strip back the unnecessary complexities.”
Despite being dyslexic, Megan has a degree in zoology and is also a keen wildlife photographer.
Megan is the daughter of one of Chris’ previous partners, Jo.
She first met Chris when she was 18 months old and although her mum and Chris separated when she was 12, Megan has continued to enjoy a close relationship with her stepdad, often travelling with him on his wildlife trips around the globe.
Previously, Chris was full of praise for his stepdaughter following her debut on the BBC series.
He said: “She did really well. I said to her: ‘You figure out what you want to say and I’ll fill in around you.’ I don’t need to own anything, I’ve got nothing to prove. I was there as a support mechanism, really, and wasn’t needed.
“She believes in what she’s got to say, she’s excited by the science and committed to the environmental aspects of it.”
