The family woman played by Lacey Turner was convinced sex work could help her resolve her financial woes.

And while that may be the case, it’s also putting her in huge danger next week on BBC One, particularly as she tries to rekindle her relationship with former husband Martin Fowler (James Bye).

Coming up in Walford, Martin and Stacey plan a romantic rendezvous at the allotments until she realises she’s double-booked with her Secret Cam client.

While Stacey is completely oblivious, viewers of the long-running program know that she has been chatting to Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis) who has taken up a fake identity on Secret Cam.

Stacey is not only under Theo’s thumb online, she’s also at the centre of all his attention IRL as he helps tutor a pregnant Lily Slater.

Martin tries to make out he has no issues with her prioritising her cam work over them and encourages Stacey to take the date to earn money while he looks after the kids downstairs.

But at the Slaters, the reality of the situation hits Martin hard when he overhears Stacey flirting, so he rushes out of the house.

Later on, Stacey is disappointed that Martin has left suddenly as they had plans.

Her mother Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) bumps into him, and they both admit they struggle with Stacey’s cam work, which they recently found out about.

Martin resolves to get over it and asks Stacey to meet him at Walford East for dinner.

Over a meal, they discuss Martin’s housing issue and agree he’ll move in with the Slaters temporarily.

But an innocent conversation about dessert triggers Martin to snap, and Stacey realises he’s struggling to get behind her cam work.

She leaves and Martin gets horribly drunk before starting a fight in The Vic.

Stacey soon decides to tell Martin exactly what happens during her Secret Cam dates to put his mind at ease.

As they talk at the war memorial, Theo overhears their conversation and gets angry to hear them theorise that he’s some sad, old man – but he soon gets revenge on Stacey.

Later, Stacey gets a shocking sexual request from her private client and confides in best pal Eve Unwin (Heather Peace).

But before she gets a chance to turn him down, Martin makes a shocking discovery on her laptop, and the whole situation blows up.

A horrified Stacey then gets a message from her client that makes it clear he knows details about her private life and Eve clocks that it must be somebody she knows.

Stacey is petrified she’s got a stalker and tries to find out who it is.

Things go from bad to worse when she gets flowers from her private client, and Stacey realises he knows where she lives.

Eve quizzes an oblivious Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) discreetly about whether the police can help, but he tells her that no crime has been committed in the theoretical scenario she’s describing.

Will Stacey figure out Theo is dangerous?

EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
