STACEY Solomon was in hysterics today when her Loose Women co-star Linda Robson revealed she accidentally killed her kids’ pet gerbil.
The presenters were discussing homes that needed “spiritually cleansed” when Linda told how she moved home after rat infestation.
But she shocked her fellow panellists by admitting the extreme lengths she went to to stop rodents in her new house – which actually caused her gerbil’s death.
“We had this lovely house in Islington and I absolutely loved it,” said Linda.
“It this big Georgian house, four-storey. We had loads of happy years there.
“But they did some roadworks in our street and all of a sudden mice started coming into the house.
“You know I’ve got OCD. I can’t stand mice droppings, I’d think my house is filthy.
“Then we had rats start coming in.
“How I felt about that house completely changed. I used to come stomping down the stairs so they could hear me.
“It ruined the house for me. It didn’t feel like a clean house, it wasn’t our house, it was theirs.
“I moved out because of it.”
She then surprised her co-stars with her next confession that she hadn’t mentioned in their show meeting.
“The first thing I did when we moved was get one of those plugs so that it keeps them all out,” she added.
“Unfortunately we have a gerbil and I forgot.”
Stacey gasped: “Oh my god Linda. That’s awful.”
She then started to get the giggles, saying: “It’s like it just comes out of nowhere, and you think – ‘she didn’t say that earlier’.”
Host Kaye Adams said: “You’ve always got a sting in the tail for us with these stories, Linda.
“Nobody saw that gerbil coming.”
“Not even the gerbil,” laughed Stacey.
Linda put her head in her hands and pleaded: “Move on, Kaye.
“It was supposed to be feel good Friday and I’ve killed a gerbil.”
