Adam Thomas falls ill and is banned from rehearsals
Strictly Come Dancing producers are facing a major setback as the winter flu threatens to disrupt the show. Adam Thomas, one of the celebrity contestants, has fallen ill and has been prohibited from participating in rehearsals. This development has raised concerns about the potential spread of the illness among other cast members.
Strict precautions in place to ensure the cast's well-being
The celebrities and their professional dance partners have been instructed to take all necessary precautions to stay healthy, even if it means missing crucial rehearsal time. Producers are taking the flu outbreak seriously and are determined to prevent it from affecting the entire cast. They have implemented a policy of barring ill participants from training sessions in an effort to contain the spread of the virus.
Adam Thomas battles illness
Adam Thomas, 35, disclosed earlier this week that he had been unwell and, as a result, was unable to train with his partner, Luba Mushtuk. The severity of his illness has raised concerns about the potential impact on his fellow contestants. The close proximity between Adam and Luba makes her particularly vulnerable to falling ill as well.
A show insider expressed their worries, saying, "It sounds silly, but the winter flu could wipe out Strictly's stars – and that would be a nightmare. Adam was forced to miss training after being ill and is trying to battle through it now. It would be worse if he was to spread it around and being so close with his pro partner Luba means she is more likely to get ill. Strictly have been banning the celebs and the pro's from training if they’re ill in a bid to stop them from spreading it. Naturally, everyone on the show just wants to show up and carry on, but if they're spreading their lurgy, it could have a big knock-on effect. Strictly should be about sparkles and sequins – not snot."
Adam's future on the show uncertain
Although Adam has resumed training, his prolonged absence due to illness puts his place on the show at risk. Missing out on valuable practice time could affect his performance and potentially jeopardize his chances of continuing in the competition.
A challenging time for Adam
Adam Thomas, a former soap star, has been facing a series of difficulties in recent days. Apart from battling illness, he has been missing his wife, Caroline, whom he has been married to for six years. The emotional toll of being apart from his spouse has been immense, leading to regular phone calls expressing their love for each other.
Speaking about their separation, Adam shared, "Absence definitely makes the heart grow fonder because I'm constantly ringing her going, 'God, I love you so much'. She just rang me, crying, going, 'You don't know how much it means'. I'm so used to being at home all the time as well. We are definitely missing each other. It's the biggest emotional rollercoaster you could possibly ever imagine. I never in my wildest dreams thought that it would be as tough as it is."
Adam's television journey
Adam Thomas gained fame through his role in the popular soap opera Emmerdale. He later participated in the reality show I'm A Celebrity on ITV. In 2018, he decided to leave the program. In 2023, he reappeared on TV screens, this time in Waterloo Road, reprising his previous character, Donte Charles. However, this time around, Donte has grown up and is now the school caretaker.
