Strictly Come Dancing Fans Demand Judge's Firing Over 'Outrageous Undermarking'

Viewers Fear Series Finale Could be Spoiled by Unfair Scoring

As the series finale of Strictly Come Dancing approaches, fans have taken to social media to call for the firing of a judge, citing 'outrageous undermarking' as the reason. The judges' scoring has come under scrutiny from viewers throughout the series, with Craig Revel Horwood, known for his strict marking, receiving the most criticism. Now, fans are demanding a change.

Outrage Over Craig Revel Horwood's Harsh Critiques

Furious viewers have expressed their frustration with Craig Revel Horwood's judging style. One viewer on X demanded, "Enough of Craig R Horwood. Time for a change, sack him BBC! His Mr Nasty routine is so worn out - scoring 9 for Layton & Nikita is just ridiculous. He spoils the positive vibe of the show every week." Another viewer called for the judges to be sacked after Annabel Croft and Johannes Radebe's semi-final Salsa, exclaiming, "NO CRITICISM BUT 8s!? SACK THE JUDGES." Others expressed disappointment with Craig's scoring, claiming that Annabel was severely undermarked and that there needs to be a fair contest for everyone.

Consistent Scores and Controversial Moments

Despite the backlash, Craig did give out two perfect scores of 10 during last weekend's semi-final. One was for Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin's Paso Doble, and the other for their Charleston. Craig's score of 9 for their Rumba was in line with his fellow judges, and his marks for the other semi-finalists were also consistent with his peers. However, accusations of undermarking extended beyond the judges to the live audience, as the studio erupted with boos and the pro dancers started chanting "undermarked" when Annabel's Salsa received a score of 32.

With the series finale just around the corner, fans will be eagerly watching to see if any changes are made to the judging panel in response to the outcry over undermarking. The show must strike a delicate balance between fair and entertaining, ensuring that the final dances are scored accurately and reflect the contestants' performances.
