STRICTLY Come Dancing’s AJ Odudu has sustained a nasty injury which has left her on crutches, days before the show’s final, according to a new report.
The 33-year-old presenter reportedly had to miss a day of training after suffering the injury and underwent a scan.
A show insider told The Mirror: ‘This is the worst possible timing but AJ is a real trooper and will keep going no matter what.
“The pain in her foot was terrible.”
The BBC had no comment when approached by The Celeb Report.
Despite sustaining the injury so close to Saturday’s final, the source added they were “hopeful” that AJ will be fit for this weekend’s show and is currently “resting her foot”.
The news comes days after fans were left hot under the collar when AJ and her pro partner Kai Widdrington danced a very sultry rumba.
They danced to Show Me Heaven by Maria McKee as fans noted their “chemistry is off the charts”.
The pair have refused to confirm or deny if their connection is romantic, but it paid off as they sizzled on the Strictly ballroom floor and made it through to the final.
Looking immaculate in a navy blue number, AJ wore her hair in long curls as she danced sultrily and close to Kai.
They embraced and danced cheek to cheek, and at one point AJ hoisted her leg up to Kai’s hips.
The judges heaped praise of the performance, with Queen of Rumba Shirley Ballas even standing up to bow towards AJ, saying she “wanted to cry”.
“You definitely know how to pull it together in a semi-final. It was captivating, a moment in time, just beautiful,” Shirley told them.
Even Motsi Mabuse noted how the pair had grown close over the course of the competition.
“It was the perfect dance for AJ and Kai to show even more of their extraordinary chemistry,” Motsi said on the show.
“I can really see you have put in so much work AJ and I have so much respect for that.
“Your connection with Kai – you did not let go. You were concentrated. I love the connections between you two. That dance came together for you two tonight perfectly.”
The judges weren’t the only ones to clock their chemistry, as fans at home got hot and bothered watching the routine.
“AJ and Kai’s chemistry is off the scales. Soooo happy for her, that was stunning! That’s two amazing dances!” wrote one fan on Twitter.
Another added: “Well, def cannot fake that chemistry. Felt like Kai & AJ forgot we were watching.”
AJ joins fellow celebrities, GBBO’s John Whaite and EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis at this weekend’s Strictly final as they battle it out for the glitterball trophy.
