The Departure
Nigel Harman, known for his role in Casualty, was seen leaving the Strictly Come Dancing studio looking glum last night. Unfortunately, Nigel had to make an untimely exit from the show, alongside his dance partner Katya Jones.
The Injury
Nigel, 50, appeared in last night's live show for the last time, nursing an injured rib. In photos, he can be seen clutching his rib with an unhappy expression as he traveled by cab. Nigel bid his cast-mates goodbye and left the studio.
The Shock
Nigel and Katya spoke to Claudia Winkleman on the show, surrounded by their co-stars, and revealed the details of Nigel's shocking injury. Nigel explained that he hurt his rib while leaping off a rostrum and was about to be caught by some handsome men. He added that he was in A&E after the incident and is currently on painkillers.
An Emotional Goodbye
An emotional Katya expressed her love for Nigel and their time together on the dancefloor. She mentioned that Nigel did this for his daughter and parents, and although he missed out on performing this week, she knows his parents will be proud of him. Nigel and Katya were set to perform a Charleston to Step in Time from Disney's Mary Poppins in the quarter-finals.
It is disappointing news for Nigel and Katya as they were hoping to continue in the competition. However, Nigel's injury forced him to withdraw. The star was seen looking downcast before the live show.
