Fresh Crisis for BBC
Last night, the BBC found itself in a new crisis as singer Wynne Evans, 52, from Strictly Come Dancing, was caught making a vile sexual comment about host Janette Manrara.
The Controversial Comment
During a photocall to launch the Strictly live tour, Evans was recorded suggesting a three-way sex session with presenter Janette Manrara, using the term "spit roast". Witnesses reported that Evans made the remark as Janette was moving between him and actor Jamie Borthwick.
Apology Issued
Following the incident, Evans issued an apology, stating, "My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise." This comes after Evans faced criticism during last year's series for allegedly groping his dance partner Katya Jones, which they dismissed as a joke.
Consequences and Reactions
As a result of the incident, Evans pulled out of a Glasgow performance due to an ankle injury. Both the BBC and Strictly Live producers have made it clear that such behavior is not tolerated on tour. Janette Manrara's spokeswoman mentioned that she was unaware of the controversial comment made by Evans.
