Channel 4 newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy to dance with new partner on tour
Strictly Come Dancing is set for a major shake-up as one of this year's cast members is swapping their professional dance partner for the show's upcoming live arena tour. Channel 4 newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy, who had been dancing with Lauren Oakley, will now take to the floor with reigning show champion Jowita Przystal. The surprise switch comes as a result of Oakley's contractual obligations to another tour.
A 'big decision' and a new dance partner
In an Instagram post, Krishnan expressed his excitement about the upcoming tour, revealing that he had gone back and forth about the decision. He thanked Oakley for her support and announced that he couldn't wait to dance with Przystal. Jowita Przystal had previously been partnered with sporting star Jody Cundy before being voted off in the second week of the competition. She then went on to win the Glitterball trophy with wildlife cameraman Hamza Yassin last year.
Star-studded lineup for the tour
The live arena tour, which kicks off in Birmingham in January, will feature some of the biggest names from the class of 2023. EastEnders star and model Bobby Brazier, along with his partner Dianne Buswell, will be among the dancers. Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola, Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington, Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin, and Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu will also be gracing the dance floor. Tennis ace Annabel Croft will be paired with Graziano Di Prima, while Janette Manrara will return to host the proceedings, joined by head judge Shirley Ballas and co-stars Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood.
A scintillating tour across the country
The tour will feature 30 shows in various cities across the UK, including Manchester, Sheffield, London, and Liverpool. It promises to be a dazzling spectacle as fan favorites return to light up arenas across the country.
