STRICTLY Come Dancing has become embroiled in yet another fix row after Nigel Harman’s dance past was revealed.
The EastEnders legend’s position in the all-star line-up to bid for the BBC‘s Glitter Ball trophy was announced today.
Strictly Come Dancing’s Nigel Harman has already become the focus of a ‘fix’ row
Nigel 49, was revealed in the line-up today
Yet he has previously sung and danced on 2014 show I Can’t Sing!
Yet Nigel‘s spot on Strictly has already become the centre of controversy for some fans due to his dance past and fancy footwork experience.
It follows concern earlier this week that Strictly star Adam Thomas also has an unfair advantage.
Strictly also became embroiled in a separate fix row before this year’s series – after signing up West End theatre star Layton Williams.
Additionally, fellow Strictly recruit Angela Scanlon has also caused a stir after her dance training past came to light.
Now Nigel has been thrown into the mix – with his dance experience in 2014’s I Can’t Sing! The X Factor Musical coming to light.
Yet years before, at the tender age of eight, he got his first break as a child in a sailor suit on a Croydon stage.
He then told the Independent: “It all went mental,” after he signed up for singing and dance classes.
Nigel told the publication of another advert and said: “I did this Colgate one where the girl playing my sister had to say, ‘let me try’.’
“Her voice was so nauseating that they had to redub it.”
He also enrolled at drama school before heading away to work on a cruise ship as a dancer.
Although he told the publication the experience was “minging” – it was dance experience all the same, and has irked fans.
Meanwhile the EastEnders hunk – who played the soap’s Dennis Rickman – was officially confirmed on today’s edition of Lorraine, saying: “I’m excited to be out and proud now.”
He told stand-in host Christine Lampard: “I think I’m realising since I said yes to it, in my my mind, I think I’m a better dancer than my body tells me.”
While he can be seen on BBC soap Casualty playing doctor Max Christie, Nigel has also now re-trained for a career as a meditation teacher.
Nigel studied drama and took singing and acting lessons prior to his EastEnders stint
Nigel also had a ‘minging’ job where he performed on a cruise ship
