A STRICTLY “spoiler” who reveals the dance-off result has moaned the cost of living crisis has affected his website and begged fans: “Buy me a pint.”
Dave Thorp, who was unmasked this week as publishing the outcome before Sunday’s pre-recorded results show airs, also sells ads for big-name brands.

Mr Thorp said his website isn’t ‘cheap to run’ and cost £3,000 last year
But he says his revenue is down 40 per cent and now appeals for donations on Patreon, where people can give cash through the guise of handing over the value of “a much needed pint”.
Last night, Mr Thorp said: “The site isn’t cheap to run and it cost me about £3,000 in hosting costs last year due to the demand placed on the site for people choosing to view the spoiler.
“I’m far from alone in using advertising to recoup those operating expenses.”
Thorp – married to wife Angie, 31 – has said fans have to seek out the result and can ignore it if they want.
He apparently uses Google’s Adsense and Amazon to sell adverts around his website – and yesterday ads for Nike and Next appeared.
Companies including Co-Op, Boden, Viking Direct and Howdens Kitchens have also appeared.
He also has links to smaller advertisers including one for a belly dancer Andrea Boros, who says she performs her Egyptian dance at Arab weddings, themed parties and corporate events.
