STRICTLY Come Dancing star Nina Wadia has insisted that she hasn’t spoken to any of her former EastEnders co-stars for advice on the show.
The 52-year-old actress is the latest in a long line of Walford alumni to be taking to the ballroom, but she hasn’t gone to any of them for guidance.
However, the star – who played Zainab Masood on the BBC One soap between 2007 and 2013 – did go to other famous pals for tips, including Corrie’s Catherine Tyldesley.
In an exclusive interview with The Celeb Report, Nina shared: “I’ve had friends who’ve done it before, they’ve all said, it is the hardest thing you’ll ever do, but you will also love every minute of it.
“Cath Tyldesley, Sunetra Sarker…”
But when pressed on whether she’d chatted to any of her old ‘Enders pals, she confessed: “No none of the EastEnders lot. I know, Emma [Barton] did it, and loads of them have done it.
“And I remember Scott Maslen was actually in the show when he was doing it and he was exhausted, I mean he just came in looking actually half his size and shriveled.
“So no, I’ve not really spoken to them.”
Other EastEnders favourites to have competed over the years include Kellie Bright, Jake Wood, and Maisie Smith.
In addition to Nina, this year’s Strictly has another Albert Square resident taking part, with Rose Ayling-Ellis the first deaf actress to compete in the show.
Strictly kicks off this Saturday with the show’s official launch, where fans will get the first glimpse of this year’s celebs as they are paired up with a professional dance partner.
