In 2019, Shirley had her breast implants removed due to cancer fears. This decision came after a series of personal cancer scares and family diagnoses. Shirley reflected on her past decision to get breast implants, citing low self-esteem and pressure from the dance world.

Previous health scares

Shirley also shared a previous health scare in 2021 when a growth was found in her shoulder. Thankfully, the lump was non-cancerous. She mentioned that the support and strength of Amy Dowden, who has overcome breast cancer, have been on her mind during this challenging time.
