EX-Strictly Come Dancing star Vincent Simone has split from his wife of six years after his busy touring schedule put a “strain on the marriage”, the Sun can exclusively reveal.
The Italian pro dancer, 42, is getting divorced from wife Susan Duddy after the couple quietly separated three years ago. They have two sons Luca, 11, and Mateo, seven.
A source said: “Vincent is sad about the end of the marriage, but they have remained amicable and nobody else is involved.
“When Vincent was on tour they struggled with the distance and just weren’t able to spend any time together. They were apart for quite a long period and this put a big strain on their marriage.
“Earning a living on the road can be hard for families as it involves so much travel.”
It comes after as he is currently touring the UK with fellow ex Strictly pro Ian Waite.
Vincent, who was on the BBC1 show for six years before leaving in 2013, started dating brunette Susan in 2007 before getting hitched at Castle Leslie in County Monaghan, Ireland in 2015.
They tied the knot with a star-studded guestlist watching on including Rebecca Adlington, David Emanuel and Matthew Wright.
Vincent, whose celebrity partners included Rachel Stevens, Edwina Currie, Dani Harmer and Natalie Cassidy, said of their first dance: “Susan didn’t want to do a choreographed first dance. She’s very shy and doesn’t like to be the centre of attention.
“She asked me to perform with one of my Strictly ex-partners but I said, ‘No, it’s our wedding, I want to dance with you.’ We decided to do the normal smooch.”
Speaking to Hello magazine he added: “I couldn’t look back at Susan as she walked up the aisle because I was afraid I would dissolve into tears.
“She looked so beautiful, really breathtaking.”
