STRICTLY stars have reportedly been “banned” from attending parties amid fears a Covid outbreak could ruin the show.
The Mirror claims contestants have been told to avoid going to big events in a bid to steer clear of catching the virus.
It comes as Tom Fletcher made a sensational return to the show after a week off following a positive test while on tour with McFly.
A show insider told the paper: “Paranoia is swirling round the BBC studios – everyone is fearful of getting Covid and ruining their chances.
“They’ve been advised to avoid big events or partying – anything that could see them testing positive for the virus.
“Producers have been very clear that health and safety come first, which means contestants have had to forego painting the town red as was customary in previous years.”
Earlier this month, we revealed how at least THREE pro-dancers have refused to be vaccinated, but bosses have never commented on the claims.
They now face a dilemma over what to do if a competitor gets Covid after the quarter-final.
Currently, anyone testing positive must leave the BBC1 contest for a week.
But under those rules, it would mean any couple who made it through the quarters but then caught the virus would be automatically forced to miss the semi-finals.
And that leaves Strictly producers with the choice of either allowing them straight through to the final – or forcing them to quit.
A Strictly spokesman said: “We do not comment on speculation of somebody’s COVID vaccination status.
“Strictly Come Dancing production continues to follow strict government and industry guidelines to ensure the safety of all on the show.”
