As the 21st series of Strictly Come Dancing kicks off, judges and dancers are reportedly seeking supernatural intervention due to their belief that the Elstree Studios, where the show is filmed, is haunted. The Strictly stars claim to have experienced unexplained bumps, noises, and incidents that have disrupted their preparations. They are now calling on producers to hire a spirit guide or psychic healer to banish any ghostly presence.

The fear among the Strictly stars is so palpable that an upcoming meeting with producers has been arranged to discuss their concerns and seek help. Some contestants, including judges Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood, and dancers Dianne Buswell, Katya Jones, Nadiya Bychkova, and Nancy Xu, are said to be spooked by the supposed paranormal activity at the studio. The dancers are especially anxious about spending a significant amount of time at Elstree Studios.
The Curse of the Paranormal
The phenomenon of ghostly encounters has added a new level of tension to the show, which is well-known for being associated with relationship breakups. Competitors have reportedly been getting chills while alone backstage, contributing to the eerie atmosphere. The spooky vibe has been further heightened by the sharing of ghost stories during planning for the Halloween special.
Famous Film Location
Elstree Studios has a long history of hosting movies and TV shows, including horror classics. Films such as The Shining and Dracula were filmed on the site, which could explain the alleged paranormal activity. TV presenter Yvette Fielding, who visited the studio for a Most Haunted show in 2005, recalled personal objects being moved, showers turning on unexpectedly, and unexplained sounds of children whispering and men growling.
A Metaphysical Presence
Yvette Fielding also warned of a "Strictly curse" in 2021 and shared her belief in a malevolent spirit present at Elstree Studios. She advised the stars of Strictly to watch their backs, as the ghost allegedly loves causing chaos and disruption. Previous Strictly contestants have also had their own supernatural encounters, with former Bros star Matt Goss claiming to have been visited by the ghost of his late mother after leaving the show.
Calls for Expert Help
The Strictly stars are not taking any chances and want to alleviate their fears by hiring an expert in dealing with spirits and the paranormal. They hope that the presence of a spirit guide or energy healer will help maintain a positive and ghost-free environment throughout the filming of the show.
