STRICTLY Come Dancing star John Whaite revealed he broke down in tears during training with pro dancer Johannes Radebe – after a very bizarre row.
The Bake Off star, who is making history as the first male couple on the show, admitted Johannes was being TOO nice to him and he became overcome with emotion.
Appearing on Steph’s Pack Lunch, he rsaid: “He was being too nice. I said ‘Johannes, I’m just not getting it so please can you talk me through the steps, be horrible to me and I’ll get it.’
“He was like ‘No darling, I don’t do that’. I started crying…”
John and Johannes are rehearsing daily from ten am to seven or eight pm, which has been a “stressful” experience for the chef.
He told Steph McGovern: “Sometimes the days are stressful and we have to take a few more breaks. Last week when we were learning the steps, I was getting really stressed… I glaze over.
“I reach mental saturation and he has to either feed me Haribo or send me home and I think it’s easier just to put me in cab and send me home.”
Discussing what it means to be making Strictly history, an emotional John said: “I’ve been championing this all my life… For the fact the moment is here now… It’s been lovely.
“I saw Nicola and Katya do it last year and was like yay, so when it does come round I would love to be a part of it.
“So when John said I want to do this and proudly so, I was like this is my guy. It has to be him, it has to be me and him.”
