Strictly’s Katya Jones posts tearful tribute to brother after she’s separated from Russian family at Christmas

STRICTLY’S Katya Jones was feeling tearful this Christmas after being separated from her Russian family.

She admired a video of their tree on Instagram and left a crying emoji as she told fans she wouldn’t get to see it in person this New Year.

The professional dancer, 32, then marvelled at her brother playing Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters on acoustic guitar and admitted she was missing him.

She wrote: “My brother plays guitar and sings his daughters to sleep

“He is so incredibly talented, plays multiple instruments and can do pretty much anything. I remember he taught me to play this song when I was younger.

“We have a very special bond. And this just made me realise how much I actually miss him.”

Fresh from finishing another series of Strictly, Katya will spend her New Year’s Eve doing a meet and greet with fans at King George’s Hall in Blackburn.

She was partnered with Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty for this year’s series.

The pair had a good run but failed to make it to the final, much to their disappointment.

After their exit, an insider told us: “Katya was absolutely furious during filming not just because the dance hadn’t gone as well as they hoped but by the low marks they received.

“Both Katya and Adam were in tears after a week in which they’d thrown their all into getting the routine right.

“And though it hadn’t gone perfectly, both of them were shocked at being at the bottom of the scoreboard and finding themselves in the dance-off after the public vote. So getting shown the door on Sunday was utterly devastating.”
