STRICTLY Come Dancing star Rhys Stephenson has reportedly been warned to keep his routines ‘clean’ to avoid upsetting his younger fans.
The CBeebies presenter, 26, is competing in the competition alongside Nancy Xu and will be keeping his footwork family friendly.
A source told the Mail On Sunday: “There is a concerted effort to keep Rhys clean.
“The routines are tame compared to other contestants because bosses are aware that a lot of young children watch Strictly, particularly on catch-up, and seeing the guy they associate with their own programmes getting sexual wouldn’t be great.
“PG is what his dances are all about.”
The star found himself in the bottom two last night, but was saved in a dance off against McFly star Tom Fletcher.
Rhys and Nancy – who have been very successful throughout the competition scored 32 as they danced to Footloose by Kenny Loggins for musicals week.
Fans were left baffled last night as Strictly host Tess Daly laid into Rhys – leaving them convinced it was to avoid bias claims.
The show has been dogged by accusations that judges over-mark the Beeb’s own talent.
Tess, 52, usually leaves negative criticism to the panel but twice mentioned “a mistake” in his jive.
A Sun study found eight BBC stars have won Strictly’s 18 completed series. They include mainstream presenters Stacey Dooley, Ore Oduba and Chris Hollins, plus Holby City actor Tom Chambers.
A BBC spokesman previously insisted: “These statistics are misleading. The winner is decided purely by the public vote.”
