In the recent episode, Strike realised that Margot’s killer was responsible for many other murders that have gone undetected, and laid a trap.
Viewers are already loving the new season, as they praised it for being “the best” on TV, branding it “brilliant”.
Taking to Twitter, fans of the show shared their thoughts on the return of the BBC drama.
One viewer wrote: “#Strike #TroubledBlood Been waiting for this. Brilliant first episode. Thank you.”
Another added: “This is the best!”
A third viewer penned: “How have I only heard about the drama #Strike this week? It’s so good! Have done series one and two this week! Love it! Series five started this evening! I Will have to binge this #CormoranStrike”

Meanwhile, screen writer Tom Edge revealed that “there’s a lot going on” with both characters under the surface, even if their agency initially seems to be in a settled period.
The synopsis for the new series reads: “Private detective Cormoran Strike is visiting his family in Cornwall when he’s approached by a woman, Anna Phipps asking for help finding her mother, Margot Bamborough, who went missing under mysterious circumstances in 1974.
Strike is based on the book series Cormoran Strike by J. K. Rowling under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.
The second episode airs on BBC One tonight at 9pm.
