SUNDAY Brunch’s Simon Rimmer has announced the tragic news that his father has passed away.
The Channel 4 star confirmed his heartbreaking loss on social media on Friday.

Taking to Twitter with a touching photo of himself and his late father, he wrote: “It’s with great sadness that I have to announce the death of my hero, my dad Peter.”
Simon was inundated with messages of support from friends and fans who offered their condolences.
Singer Jessie Ware commented: “Oh I’m so sorry Simon. Sending you love.”
Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison penned: “So sorry for your loss Simon… sending you and your family loads of love.”
One Twitter user added: “I’m so sorry for your loss. Worst kind of pain ever. Sending love xx.”
Back in 2020, Simon opened up about his dad’s health battles in a poignant post for Peter’s 87th birthday.
He wrote: “Two heart operations, two lots of cancer. He’s a fighter. He’s the smartest, most gentle human being. Love you dad see you later.”
The renowned TV chef previously revealed that he was just nine years old when his dad was diagnosed with cancer.
Speaking to The Mind Map in 2018, he said: “As I look back, to my childhood I remember being nine years old and my dad being diagnosed with cancer and was told he had very little chance of survival – he’s now 84 and still going strong.
“I remember my dad being a very strong human being and I remember him using that when he was fighting his illness – he had the power of positivity and mental agility and that always stuck with me.”
Simon is best known for his appearance on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch
