The weekend duo were presenting a segment on the new Channel Seven headquarters and had crossed to Doran who was reporting on the ground.

After the report finished the two women made their callous remarks as the cameras continued to roll.

Wright said: “I wonder if Matt’s going to come back for the last 20 minutes of the program.”

Bowery replied: “I’m always wondering if Matt’s going to come back.”

Both woman were seen breaking out into snickers.

The loaded comments come after Doran sparked a police probe when he disappeared during a work assignment in June.

The veteran reporter had been sent to cover the Hunter Valley bus crash that claimed the lives of ten people but failed to show up for his shift.

When Doran didn’t answer calls, texts and emails ahead of his live appearance worried colleagues alerted cops who issued a missing persons alert.

Doran was eventually found at a nearby cafe and subsequently replaced.

At the time, NSW police told Daily Mail Australia: “Earlier today officers from Port Stephens Hunter Police District received a concern for welfare report for a 40-year-old man.

“Officers conducted inquiries and located a man a short time later. There is no further police action.”

Insiders claimed several factors could have contributed to Doran’s troubling behaviour.

One source suggested he could have struggled with the confronting nature of the wedding tragedy.

Doran reportedly took several weeks of personal leave after the incident to “prioritise his health”.
