Susan Sarandon comes out as bisexual during blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment on late night chat show

SUSAN Sarandon has come out as bisexual in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

During an appearance on the chat show back in September, Susan, 76, opened up about her sexuality in a candid chat with the host.

The 76-year-old actress casually described herself as ‘bi’ during the interview which took place back in September

The Dead Man Walking actress casually confirmed her own bisexuality when making a joke about cats and dogs.

During the chat, Jimmy mentioned that Susan had brought her dogs out on a previous appearance she had made on the show.

The Academy Award winner then informed the host that unfortunately her dogs had died a year before.

She explained: “My little creatures all passed away. I can’t talk about it because I still get upset. It was about a year ago.

“I was feeling sad and… I said, ‘I can’t get another dog. I just can’t’, you know? And [my son] said, ‘Well, then get cats’.

She then blurted out: “And I’m bi, so…” as the audience laughed at her casual reveal.

Jimmy took the chance to probe further, asking Susan: “So you mean you like dogs and cats?”

She cheekily replied: “I’m fluid, I’m very fluid where animals are concerned.”

But this isn’t the first time that Susan has hinted at being bisexual.

In 2017, she told Michigan-based LGBTQ news outlet Pride Source that her sexual orientation is “open”.

“My sexual orientation is up for grabs, I guess you could say,” she said at the time.

In the same interview, she said the majority of her friends have always been gay men and women.

Explaining why she hasn’t had a “large dating career,” other than some long-lasting relationships with men, she described herself as a “serial monogamist”.

And in 2021, when she was asked during a podcast interview about her dating interests, Susan said she doesn’t care about the gender of her potential suitors, just that they must be vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Susan married Chris Sarandon back in September 1967. However, they divorced in 1979 but she decided to retain the surname Sarandon as her stage name.

She was then involved romantically with director Louis Malle, musician David Bowie and briefly, actor Sean Penn.

In the mid-1980s, Sarandon dated Italian filmmaker Franco Amurri, with whom she had a daughter, Eva Amurri in 1985.

Beginning in 1988, Susan lived with actor Tim Robbins, whom she met while they were filming Bull Durham. They have two sons: John and Miles.

Susan split with Tim in 2009 and began a relationship with Jonathan Bricklin, but they broke up in 2015.
