SUSANNA Reid claimed Cristiano Ronaldo “ghosted” Piers Morgan after her co-star bragged about their awkward text exchange.
Ahead of last night’s Champions League clash between Ronaldo’s Juventus and Lionel Messi’s Barcelona, Piers text the former his support.
Bragging about his friendship with Ronaldo on today’s Good Morning Britain, Piers said: “I got promoted last night, he always calls me a few things when we chat
“I just sent him a little message saying ‘big night legend. Take them down.’ I got three thumbs up back.
“I said ‘is that one for each goal?… no reply.
“He scored two, nearly got a third. I just said ‘you destroyed them’. He replied: ‘Thanks bro.’
“I’m now Cristiano Ronaldo’s bro.”
Rolling her eyes, unimpressed Susanna said: “Really deep conversation.”
It left Richard Arnold in hysterics, as Piers sniped: “It’s a better conversation that the stuff I have to have with you.”
Continuing poking fun, she said: “Literally like a series of emojis and a thanks bro.
“He’s practically ghosting you. I hate to say it. If I got that from someone I was close to, I’d be reconsidering.”
Piers has long maintained Ronaldo is the best footballer of all time, and has a soft spot for him after the footy ace complimented his physique in an interview they had together.
Meanwhile Ronaldo revealed he ‘never saw Messi as a rival’ after Juventus’s win.
The megastars faced each other for the first time since Ronnie left Real Madrid in 2018 as Juventus topped Champions League Group G with a 3-0 win.
Portuguese ace Ronaldo labelled Barca the ‘best team he ever faced’ after the game.
And the 35-year-old also revealed he has always ‘got along well’ with Barcelona wantaway Messi, 33.
The former Manchester United star scored twice from the penalty spot either side of Weston McKennie’s acrobatic effort to seal the win.
