FORMER Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans told fans ‘it’s better’ that she didn’t attend the upcoming reunion special, but scoffed at the fact that producers extended an invitation to Farrah Abraham, who was fired over her adult activity.
The fired MTV star, 29, answered a question about the reunion on an Instagram Story Q&A.
She was asked if she’d be at the upcoming Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 crossover reunion special.
Jenelle launched into a lengthy tirade about the show, saying: “Yeah, about that…I already have a whole YouTube video explaining this. It’s from, like, a couple months back.
“Basically, I got called one day by my old producer. He asked me if I wanted to be a part of this Teen Mom reunion show thing. I said, ‘I’m up for it, you can let them know I’m up for it, but I just want my husband [David Eason] there as support…Maybe down the street, staying at a different hotel, just in case if s**t pops off I have somewhere to go and support.’
She went on: “Once I told them that, I never got a call back about it and I was basically ignored.
“So, yes, I was invited, but I guess then I was uninvited. And apparently all the girls are scared of me because they’re like, ‘Oh hell no, we don’t want Jenelle being here.'”
Jenelle went on to say: “But pretty much all the other Teen Moms are there, including Farrah, so have fun watching them.”
She noted that it wasn’t entirely bad, saying: “With my anxiety being so bad lately, it’s probably best I didn’t go.”
Her reunion reveal comes amid backlash over a TikTok video she posted about her health.
After opening up about her anxiety, Jenelle shared a lighthearted video after claiming she could become “paralyzed” due to a cyst on her spine.
HEALTH WOES
Fans were quick to criticize the former MTV star, noting that she seemed well enough to make videos despite her complaints.
In the TikTok video, which she captioned: “Check-up with my neurosurgeon,” Jenelle sat straight up with a smile on her face.
She lipsynced: “I don’t need drugs, because I’m already high enough,” feigning a scream for the camera.
In text over her video, Jenelle wrote: “When you already have a growing cyst in your spine.
“And the doctor says ‘can’t help you. when you become paralyzed go to the ER.'”
The video made its way from TikTok to Reddit, where social media users slammed her and accused her of “dramatizing” her health woes.
One Reddit user wrote: “What do you do when a doctor tells you you’re going to be paralyzed? Make a TikTok of course!”
Another wrote: “OK is it just me or does she seem ABSOLUTELY FINE. She’s literally making TikToks every day but has all these so-called back problems?”
A third Redditer posted: “The pathetic amount of people the feel the need to tell and dramatize their health issues is insane. No one f**king cares.”
Jenelle has been diagnosed with syringomyelia, which is characterized by the development of a cyst in the spinal cord. The cyst causes pain and muscle weakness.
Symptoms include headaches, pain in the neck, arms and back, loss of reflexes and muscle weakness and wasting.
Last week, the controversial reality star explained: “I had another MRA of my back done where my cyst is and my cyst is actually growing from six months ago.
“I’ve been in a lot of back pain, just been resting a lot lately. I’ve just been taking it easy, been resting. I’ve been in a lot of pain so just trying to take it easy on my body.”
She broke the news about her diagnosis in March, saying she was “in shock.”
While some fans sympathize with her, many Teen Mom viewers have remained critical.
Jenelle was fired by Teen Mom in 2019 after her husband admitted to shooting and killing their family dog, Nugget.
He tried to justify the shooting, but failed.
Since then, he and Jenelle have come under fire for many things, including racism, refusing to wear masks, and David shooting and killing yet another pet — this time a goat.
SHOW MUST GO ON
Jenelle, or no Jenelle, MTV has decided to move forward with its Teen Mom spinoff series which sees stars from various Teen Mom shows come together on screen.
In a new teaser, Farrah and Cheyenne Floyd, who appears on Teen Mom OG, are shown facing off.
In the trailer, Farrah was seen shouting “you guys are adults” at her former costars.
Later in the clip, Cheyenne flipped a table covered in solo cups in Farrah’s direction while screaming: “Let’s talk then b***h! Let’s do it.”
Farrah made a surprise appearance on the special after being fired by MTV in 2017 for appearing in a sex tape.
Ahead of the premiere of the trailer, Farrah alleged that she was physically “ATTACKED” by her co-stars while filming the show, and encouraged them to “do better.”
The controversial reality star opened up to TMZ about her return to MTV.
Asked: “How was it seeing some of your old castmates after so long?” Farrah responded: “I think we are gonna see how that goes.
“I always wish them the best, I think there’s still a lot of progress to be made.”
