TEEN Mom Kailyn Lowry gave her review of the latest episode of the Family Reunion spinoff series and called out producers for “staging scenes” with Briana DeJesus.
Kailyn did not join the cast for the franchise’s spinoff series, but provided her take on the show on her podcast, Coffee Convos.
The Teen Mom 2 star opened up about her thoughts of Tuesday’s episode with her co-host Lindsie Chrisley, and she had some notes.
Kailyn shared her gripes with the show after revealing that she had a tough time sitting through the episode and was trying to not “be a hater.”
She then continued saying that “a little bird told her” that many of the scenes that played out in the second episode were “reversed” and were not aired in the exact order they happened.
The TV star also brought up her nemesis Briana’s ex Devoin who made his Family Reunion debut this week, claiming that the scene where Briana calls to invite her baby daddy was staged and he was already planning on participating.
She claimed to have had text conversations with Devoin that support this, implying that MTV producers orchestrated the star’s invite to appear on air.
“At this point, I will say, Briana has carried the entire show,” Kailyn said as her co-star’s family drama also became a major storyline on the show.
Both Lindsie and Kailyn later agreed that many of the conversations felt “staged,” especially when discussing bringing their significant others into the mix.
The TV personality had similar views after watching last week’s episode where she aired out her issues from week two on her podcast.
WEEK 2 RECAP
Kailyn began: “15 minutes into episode 2 and it’s still night one.
“I was bored and I wrote in my notes that I understand that I’m gonna come off as a huge hater of this show but, like, f**king snoozefest.”
She continued: “I’m bored, we need to carry on. And I’m just over it by minute 15.”
After Lindsie pointed out Javi was laughing at Kailyn’s thoughts, he said it was “because I was probably asleep at this point.”
Meanwhile, Lindsie said the first and second episodes were dragged together because “there wasn’t enough going on that would have been a good lead in to start it.”
She continued: “I felt like the challenges were a little basic and were just not great and the writing was all over the wall that they were gonna pair up Ashley and Jade.”
After the group criticized a kayaking challenge that paired enemies Ashley Jones and Jade Cline together, Kailyn eventually dubbed the show as an “embarrassment” for only doing “surface level” therapy.
Kailyn described an activity in which the Teen Mom stars were asked to stand up and share something about themselves that they like.
The Teen Mom 2 star said: “I just feel like this is very surface level. This is crap. This is not real therapy and it’s an embarrassment to what real therapy looks like.
“Because I’m not in therapy talking about something that I like about myself and have other people resonating.”
She continued: “That’s a joke. That’s so surface level.”
CLAPPING BACK
After Kailyn shared her negative thoughts about the show on the podcast, Teen Mom Family Reunion Briana, 27, clapped back in an Instagram Story post.
Briana seemed to throw shade at her costar by sharing a photo of a clown emoji looking through a mirror, which implied Kailyn was self-reflecting during the podcast episode.
The mother-of-two then shared another reaction to Kailyn’s comments by posting an image that resembled the Gatorade logo, but instead rad “Hateorade.”
Their feud recently took a heated turn when Kailyn addressed the mom of two’s claims about being “intimidated” by her addition to the MTV franchise.
During a previous episode of Coffee Convos podcast, Kailyn said: “That is the furthest thing from the truth.”
The TV star mentioned that she was “friendly” with Briana and her sister, Brittany, before they were added to the cast.
BRIANA’S RESPONSE
Briana responded to Kailyn’s podcast with her own statement, which was issued to Celebuzz.
She told the outlet: “Kailyn Lowry is currently the plaintiff in a lawsuit that I am the defendant in. Until this absolutely ridiculous lawsuit is settled, I will refrain from commenting on her to the media.”
Teen Mom Family Reunion is an eight-episode series comprised of cast members from all sides of the Teen Mom franchise.
In addition to Briana, Cheyenne Floyd, Leah Messer, Macie Bookout, Jade Cline, Ashley Jones, Amber Portwood, and Farrah Abraham also appear on the show bringing along some of their friends and significant others.
