TEEN Mom 2 alum Kailyn Lowry said she has been “diagnosed with depression” after being “mistakenly told she has bipolar disorder.”
The 29-year-old gave her fans an update on her health in a new Instagram Story post.
During a Q&A session with fans on her Instagram Story on Thursday, Kailyn prompted her fans to ask “good stuff only.”
One Teen Mom 2 fan didn’t ask a question and instead wrote: “Lookin like a bad b**h today.”
Kailyn shared a selfie of her recording a podcast as she wrote: “Got diagnosed w depression and needed a pick me up. Appreciate you!”
MISDIAGNOSED
Back in April, the MTV star revealed she had been misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder.
While recalling a fight that turned physical with her ex-husband Javi Marroquin, Kailyn said during her The Things That Shape Us podcast to her friend Toni: “I haven’t struggled with that in a long time.
“That was something I more or less struggled with as a kid because I’d gone through so much trauma and when I was a young adult.
“Did I see you when I went through the doctors and they had me reassessed and re-evaluated and I ended up not being bipolar?”
Bipolar disorder is a mental health condition that cause someone to swing from one extreme mood to another.
In a 2015 episode of The Doctors, Kailyn revealed she stopped taking her meds and going to therapy after not feeling a difference.
She said: “A few years ago, my mom was diagnosed bipolar and my older son’s father and I split up.
“My mom’s an alcoholic, so I’m a new single parent at 17-years-old – and I think I was going through so much, so I wanted to go get treatment for mood swings, anxiety, depression…
“I did a psychiatric evaluation, and then he said I think that you are bipolar.”
She added: “From that point on my life got hectic and I just kind of stopped going to therapy and stopped refilling my prescriptions.”
Kailyn and Javi share son Lincoln, 8, while the MTV star is also the mother to sons Isaac, 11, with ex Jo Rivera and Lux, 4, and Creed, 1, with ex Chris Lopez.

The mother of four shared that she’s been diagnosed with depression amid her ongoing fued with Teen Mom 2 co-star Briana DeJesus, 27.
Briana recently sent Kailyn a distasteful gift of a treadmill, which prompted Kailyn to get her lawyer involved.
The Celeb Report exclusively revealed that Kailyn’s attorney is demanding that Briana apologize to her for “antagonizing” her client.
In court papers obtained by The Celeb Report, Briana’s lawyer requested their upcoming court hearing be postponed from January 14, 2022 to January 19, 2022 because of a scheduling conflict on his end.
The hearing is to rule on Briana’s anti-slapp motion, which protects a person’s freedom of speech, that was filed in August to have the case dismissed.
The legal drama began when Kailyn filed her initial complaint against Briana in June.
The mother of four sued Briana after she claimed Kailyn was absent from an episode of Teen Mom 2 because she assaulted her baby daddy Chris.
Kailyn said she suffer “humiliation and anguish” from Briana’s claims.
