TEEN Mom Kailyn Lowry showed off an ugly holiday sweater after she was slammed for not giving her four kids Christmas gifts.
Kailyn admitted she was single for years as she kept it “private” so Teen Mom wouldn’t “fall apart.”
Kailyn, 29, sported an ugly Christmas sweater while sipping Starbucks in a new Instagram post.
The sweater had a cat wearing a Santa hat and a bowtie against a fire and purple background.
Kailyn stood solo against an undecorated Christmas tree and held a large iced Starbucks coffee.
She captioned her post: “I can get festive sometimes.”
Teen Mom co-star Leah Messer wished her a Merry Christmas in the comments.
The post came after Kailyn was slammed for not giving her four kids Christmas presents.
YOU’RE A MEAN ONE
Teen Mom fans slammed Kailyn as “horrible” for refusing to give her sons Christmas presents.
The MTV star has four children from three different relationships and has been quite open about her co-parenting experiences.
Kailyn asked fans to send her questions via Instagram as one asked: “Do you get your dogs Christmas presents like I do?”
The TV personality was quick to reply: “I don’t even get my kids Christmas presents.”
However, that turned some heads as people sought to get some clearance as one fan asked: “How do you explain to a child that Santa comes to every house but their mom’s…?
She replied: “Some of you are curious and some of you are really upset about this.
“Just know my kids are not going without. Let them have something they only do at their dads.”
The reality star went into more detail in another Story as she shared a photo of her four boys and wrote: “I have gone over this many times, but I got tired of fighting with the dads about it and gave it up.
“Every time I got the kids for Christmas my other family members were on opposite years with their families/kids and we started doing big vacations about five years ago.
“So Christmas can be with their dads and they don’t have to worry about splitting it, and they look forward to our family vacation every year.”
She added: “My kids don’t want or need for anything and I am thankful for that. Maybe one day we will celebration without gifts on another day.”
KAILYN SEES BACKLASH
However, not all fans were on board with this as they shared their reactions after Kailyn’s Stories were reposted on Teen Mom Instagram accounts.
One wrote: “This is stupid,” while another added, “what a horrible thing to do – vacation or not, Christmas is Christmas.”
A third chimed in: “That’s a bad mom. She needs to get her boys something.”
While one said: “Sorry I disagree. You have kids and it’s Christmas. They should switch years like millions of other parents do… Sounds like a cop out.”
Not all responses were negative, though, as some applauded Kailyn.
“Makes perfect sense to me as a matter fact I’m doing the same!” one wrote, as another added, “Makes sense when you have so many baby daddies, it probably gets pretty hectic..”
The Teen Mom 2 star shares 11-year-old son Issac with ex Jo Rivera, 8-year-old Lincoln with Javi Marroquin, and Lux, four, and Creed, one, with Chris Lopez.
This isn’t the first time that Kailyn has seen backlash for her Christmas habits as last month she shared: “Can’t remember the last time I did Christmas.”
She then once again explained her reasoning.
SECRET LOVER
Kailyn revealed she was in a relationship for years but kept it “private” in the public eye so the “show wouldn’t rip it apart.”
The MTV star opened up about her dating history in an Instagram Q&A with her followers.
The curious user wrote: “I’m confused, we never seen any other bfs and you been on teen mom for years”
The young mom replied: “It’s funny because I was actually in a relationship before with someone for two and a half years and nobody knew because I wanted to keep it so private that the show and the trolls wouldn’t rip it apart.”
She also included another comment in the caption writing: “I would have posted if we ever got engaged or something”
Viewers have mainly seen her co-parenting relationships with her children’s fathers play out on the show.
COMING OUT
Back in April, the TV star told fans that she was “interested in both men and women” after a fan questioned her sexuality.
Kailyn previously alluded to her sexuality as she told her Baby Mama No Drama podcast co-host, Vee Rivera, that she was willing to try a relationship with a woman after her failed relationship with her youngest son’s father.
The 29-year-old told Vee: “I’m just nervous – I should go speed dating…with you guys, Javi, Jo, Chris, Vee, and all the kids and be like ‘this is my package deal.’ If you can’t hang! Is there speed dating for lesbians?”
Vee continued with her stance that Kailyn should search for her next relationship with a woman, she said: “I feel like you need to be with a girl honestly I swear, I feel.”
Kailyn added: “If I meet the right one…because the ones I’ve met…are not for me.”
Months later, the mom-of-four made the bold statement that she would “NEVER” be getting pregnant again following years of drama with her baby daddies.
Kailyn took to her page to repost a slide that read: “Secure THE bag. And never GET pregnant again.”
The Teen Mom 2 star uploaded various emoji icons through the post, including a face with dollar signs as eyes referring to the “secure the bag” money-making line.
PRIVATE LIFE
She also previously boasted that “nobody knows” what goes on in her life, priding herself on keeping much of her personal life a mystery.
The star took to her Instagram Stories to share a quote that read: “My biggest flex is that nobody ever knows what’s really going on in my life.
“Where I am, who I’m with, what my next move is unless I make it known.
“Therefore, anything anyone says is just an assumption.”
Kailyn then wrote over the Story: “Happy to be here.”
NEW LOVER
Despite wanting to keep her relationships private, Kailyn admitted she’s “dating someone new” in court documents she filed in her lawsuit against Briana DeJesus.
A follower on Instagram asked Kailyn who was her “favorite baby daddy.”
She responded: “A future one.”
Kailyn recently talked about her new lover on her Instagram Stories.
She shared this quote: “A private relationship means nobody knows your business but everybody knows you are together, don’t get it confused.”
